Hello all,
I just bought a Turbo'd 2007 dragon 700 with a bad crank(equal compression in both cylinders. but goes tink tink tink when you pull it over, feels like a bad crank pin/ pto rod bearing).... last owner snapped a belt at full tilt:face-icon-small-con So I figured I would start a thread on my rebuild. and seek advice about these machines as I am new to the I.Q. chassis. Been on an edge mod sled for quite a while. And am no stranger to the guts of a poo motor, but anything funky about tearing down one of these newer lib. motors? I can't wait to get this girl on the snow (if I had any.....:face-icon-small-fro:face-icon-small-fro:face-icon-small-fro)

Here are the important parts of my new ride...
Garrett 2860 turbo
OVS charge box
AEM A/F gauge
Pure Logic fuel controller
Holley 2:1 Fuel Pressure Regulator
Custom stock pipe with bolt together flange.

Sled also has:
Skins front bumper
Van Amburg 155-163 tunnel extension bumper
Van Amburg Drop Brackets
Anti ratchet drivers
anti stab kit
163 stock track thats cut and screwed (F Bomb Mod)
Fox Zero Pro front shocks
Better Boards
2 Cool Side Panel Vents.

And some pictures!

she is tore down... found pto side of the crank broke at the pin and pto cylinder and piston are a bit chewed up and needs a cylinder head. but luckly I tore the turbo down and she is clean no ingestion of metal!

Well short block is on the bench.... Found the root cause of the blown belt that killed the crank.... Mag side motor plate was busted clean in two on the Front side, not sure as to why. No chassis damage no cracks in the bulkhead... Kinda strange

Not yet :ohwell: I have been looking for a long block to toss in it for this winter. but damn they just don't exist unless your cool with 4-5k mile motors for 1500.00-2000.00.
I want to send my motor into Indy Dan and have him build me a torque master. But I just cant spend the 2,800.00 at the moment. so I will just order a big box of parts and build my own motor it will run me about 1500.00 for all the parts. So not horrible but I really wanted that Indy Dan warranty...

On the plus side I am getting it all tore down to powder coat and wrap. It is nice that I can do all the powder coating in house (stepped out on my own this year and opened a powder coat shop this year) which is why the Indy Dan motor is a no (Damn opening your own business is spendy...lol)

Following, I just bought a stock 2008 d7 motor from Indy Dan, went down and picked it up in person, very nice guy and knows a lot about this stuff. Can't wait to get mine on the snow. Where does your sled sit for HP with the turbo?
