got my new Tied in and the helix and spring ,,,looks like the old helix would fit,, will check when I get it home,,, going on my TD8

it might but look at how much more material is on the new helix. there is more load on the helix with the new tied design so they had to beef up the helix for the added power transferred through it.

yea I havent got it to the shop to look at the diff between the ts04 yet springs look the same also???

yep your right helix is way diff and the springs are the same thy sent me a pretty wimpy spring hope it works!!! went through all this with the paragon a few years ago will see! the offset measures the same as my curent team so the same spacers worked and the belt removal tool is larger as are the deflection adjusters.

Dawg...

What are you running for the team tied (primary setup, helix/spring sec.)?

going to run slp black pink primary spring not sure on the weights yet with the 975. in the secondary i have 2 setups to try. first is 75-59 .46 / 75-57 .46 with the red dark blue spring.

also going to try a 70-59 .46/ 70-57 .46 red green spring may try the red black spring with both set ups.

the nice thing is my brother bought one too so i can just switch the whole clutch to do a side by side comparison.

yes i noticed the larger bolts too. i had to retap both of my tss98's because the removal hole striped out.

and i hope they work like i think they should and it don't turn out to be a big paper weight.

Im starting with a 66-62-33 with a red black and 10-74s with a 150-280 spring

Mine is starting to do this too on my tss98. I am wondering if a Helicoil would work as a fix. Hmm...

i drilled it and tapped it for a 5/16 nation coarse bolt then made my own screw out of 2 bolts welded together.

the helicoil may work but i wanted a bigger bolt

Helicoils work well here, just put some green or red loctite on before installing. Also, cut the unthreaded nub on the end of the tool back so that there is only about 1/16" sticking out. The problem is that because the unthreaded part of the tool is so long, you don't get full thread engagement before loading the threads, so they eventually strip out.

What setup were you running with the TSS-04? I put a link up in the "Increasing your IQ" sticky for the team conversion charts. Spent hours messing with that last night. Pretty interesting to see where belt pressure peaks and dives. A very nice tool for clutching for sure.
Seems like I was running quite a bit more side pressure than most last season and am actually thinking of going a step further this year. Could get interesting.
Haven't bit the bullet on the new clutch yet though. Pocket book isn't looking so hot. :(

Have one set up on mine ready to try out. Going from a 64/42/46 helix and stock spring to a 73/57/46 helix (73/59/46 on second cut) and the red/dark Blue spring on the tied clutch. The lighter springs are supposed to work great with the new design thus robbing less power yet....been running Rons 65.5 gram weights...not sure yet what changes I will have to make there...had snow to ride on a week and a half ago and was stuck in Vegas for a week...
