team tied helix angle

On the helix is the steep angle usually on at the base or the top. The reason I ask is that I have a helix that is not marked but when measured it seems to be 55 at the base and 70 ish at the top . To me I would have thought the bottom angle would be the 70 and it should finish at 55.

Did I get a incorectlly machined helix or is that how there suposed to be.

This is on a 858 BB

Thanks

It will start with a 70 and finish with a 55 with a middle number dictating how long in inches the 70 angle is

Starting steep is typical unless it was a special cut for a turbo? application. If its not marked it may not be a standard cut. Sometimes I forget that the team helix is bass-ackwards of most others, it starts at the closed end and finishes at the open end. :face-icon-small-blu

Yeah, thats what I though. But this one starts flat and ends steep. And the other cut on the helix seems to be a straight 55. It came with the BB kit but i can't see it working.

Suppose the guy who built the kit tested the helix he sent you?
Maybe try what he designed to work with the bigbore.

I know it sounds crazy but it might just work.

I think its cut backwards. It makes no sense for it to be like this unless its for a turbo sled. Plus I know this is not the same helix that comes with the current kit.

I like the 55 in my tied in the deep but I use the 140 200 or 120 200 spring.

Brew? What are you talking about? My Teams start at the open end (where the reverse notch is) and finish at the closed end. Or am I reading you Backasswards lol.

But you're in Canada... down south here, the reverse notch is at the closed end. :face-icon-small-ton Sort of like the toilet water going counterclockwise in Australia. Lol

Going West, even if its a reverse cut, you might try it just for grins. Doo used a reverse cut from the factory for a few years and some guys liked it, although it is backwards from traditional theory and has a hard time holding onto the belt at higher shift ratio.
