Team secondary mod

The stock cover usually has balancing holes drilled to balance the entire clutch. How is this done now that the cover is replaced?

If you pay for a high quality balance job; they balance the clutch as individual pieces so that when you shim it for belt clearance, your balance job is not voided.

That said; the CF cover should be balanced and any adjustments needed would likely be done to the movable sheave.

When balanced at the Team Factory they balance as an assembly. Using a two plane balance, that is why you see the balance holes in the fixed sheave and the cover. Also why when you shim the clutch properly for the belt, you should rebalance because you altered the assembly balance.

Hope that helps

I wonder what the difference in weight is between the Happy-Face Products P-85 cover and the PCC cover? (not counting the titanium bolts)

More importantly IMO. Which is the most rigid structure when bolted up. And, does either provide better bearing surface or bearing life to help belt and component life.
