Tampico

Wondering if anyone made it up today and how far up could you drive with a trailer on. Headed up there tomorrow.

:beer;

Just incase anyone else is wondering, you can get an enclosed to the White's Ridge parking lot no problem, it's clear dirt/mud all the way to there, but you're not going to be driving anything past there, the snow starts within 1/4 mile and it's really moguled out.

I saw quite a few rigs go up today. Last that I heard was that the Whites Ridge parking lot was doable, but not much further.

Have had snow flurries below the snow park all day, coming down hard at times but no accumulation.

We rode last night from 5:30-9:30pm and there was a good foot or more on top, virtually no tracks anywhere we went... it was like December sugar fluff, unbelievable for this time of year. We parked with a sled deck about a half mile above the White's ridge road at about the 4 mile mark... you're not going to get too much past there with rigs yet though. I'd say by next weekend if the weather stays seasonal in town then you could probably get a little higher.

Unloaded at the upper whitesridge intersection 5 or 5 1/2 mi marker. There was snow all the way down to the snowpark this morning. It was sunny most of the day. It was Dec Jan snow, nice dry and fluffy. But hard below the ft of new. Caused one slide, 3-5ft deep. It was a wind loaded hill.

Pics from our excellent ride on Sunday. Reminded me of January. How sweet it was.

Even digging out Casey's truck for two hours at the end of the ride was a hoot.

Does anyone know where this photo was taken?

This is what happens when you try to back down a steep hill.

The slide that broke loose and gave us a warning.

We ran up there yesterday, snow was decent up high, ctually better than expected on a couple of the east facing hills... Made it up to the hidden bowl from the bottom, had never tried that before, lol... was easier than we thought it would be. We did make the mistake though of driving up the North Fork road instead of going up the Middle fork, not doing that again... gravel all the way to snow cabins at the 8 mile mark and lots of jeep ruts, definitely going back to the middle fork next time.

Well shoot, I should of made the drive over then. Good to know about North Fork. It was abit like that when I was up there last time.

Went up again yesterday 4-27-13, all I can say is WOW! What a difference a week makes!!!!:( We lost a TON of snow in just 1 week's time - There's rocks and stumps showing in a lot more places and Blue slide (while a lot of fun) was a risky area to play in with the decreasing snow, Mark and I could feel a lot of rocks just under the surface. The super bowl and the hills to the south all had great coverage yet as expected, but the other stuff is melting FAST! The sidehills between eagles nest and tree phones that were 85% covered last weekend are 85% rocks now:face-icon-small-sad I'll get a couple pics up later, we were able to drive to the wide spot just before tree phones where that one big drift always sticks around. It was a lot of fun though, got another 41 miles on actually and had a great time, it was just kinda depressing at the same time seeing nearly 2 ft of melt in a week:clock::face-icon-small-sad

Some pics from the ride to Blue Slide

Climbing was fun, we were trenching in 6-12" and the snow was almost perfect for sidehilling, though we had to be on the lookout for rocks just under the surface.

Did a long sidehill/climb from all the way at the very bottom to the top!:face-icon-small-hap (look for the little dot at the bottom behind the small tree in the foreground)
