Tail light and gauge stays on

After riding for first time yesterday and the wet trailer ride home I noticed the tail light was on although dim. I started the bike let it warm up and shut it off. The tail light stayed on and the gauge kept flickering. My guess is water in something just not sure what? In the meantime I unplugged both taillight and gauge and undergoing a thorough drying. Any other suggestions?

Ok, so now this morning I got nothing. Fully charged battery and nothing works. A flicker at the gauge for a second? Looks like a trip to dealer. Hope this isn't what I have to look forward to every time I go out.

If it were me, I would unplug and plug in every connector that I could get my hands on. All the ones behind the headlight, under the seat and in the airbox.

Beta is notorious for using cheap connectors that are not weatherproofed in the least. They may not come apart but the ends are open.

It reminds me that I'll need to stuff di-electric grease in all my connections before I take my first ride.

Well see what I find. So far charger says battery fully charged but only reads 6 volts. That shouldn't have anything to do with the taillight staying on though.

If I charged my battery all night, and found that it only had 6V afterwards, I'd know for sure that I needed a new battery.

If the battery only has 6V, it is dead and can't be brought back and even if it could, it is damaged and I'd not trust it. Hopefully it is as easy as just replacing the battery. Low voltage does strange stuff.
