tack extension 02 summit 144

Options are endless if you want to change drivers. I mean what size track do you want or need? Gotta ask yourself what's the perfect in the middle size that will benefit you the most? 151" tracks are good or you can go 16" wide and make a big difference in foot print but not so long in length. Or you can go 159" which was a good track choice for some people. When you do decide I would try and find some rails for the length your going to use, they seem to be stronger then any extensions made but cost a lot more then doing the extensions. You also have to take in consideration your stock cooler when doing a extension on your tunnel. Are you going to leave it with the stock 144" cooler or up grade to the longer cooler while doing it? Depending on length change you might have to re-gear also. What kinda machines are you trying to keep up with?

thanks for the info

its a friends sled i have a 162 i was gonna give him if it wasnt a huge project is that summit 3.0 pitch? i have an m7 162 and other buddies 09 m8 162 and iqr 155 is what he will be chasing

I'm pretty sure that doo has 2.52 pitch along with a lot of the older doo's had. But pretty sure that some one out there makes a driver to fit any track you want under any sled you want.

Now down to the fact of life. Unless your friend has a lot of money to dump in to it he might just want to upgrade sleds. I mean don't get me wrong that's a nice running sled he has and some of my friends still ride them. But if he's looking to keep up then he might want a newer sled. Even just getting in to a basic REV800 with the 16" wide track and rev chassis is going to make a big difference. Just some food for thought.

If you go with the longer track option us Avid drivers they'll have what you need, thats where I got my drivers.

what i did to my 02 summit 800, was found a maverick 153 for a great deal the 02 800 has ideal power for that maverick to handle, I put on 5 inch rail extentions, and 7 tooth 3 pitch wahl brothers drivers, and went as far as making my own 2 wheel kit and moving all wheels inside the rails, makes for much easier boondocking, and i have cut the sway bar out, and now it is my favorite sled easy to boondock and go blast round the back country. The hp is bout where an 07 m7 hp is, so do some work on the clutch and have fun.

I put a 151 on my 02 and they are a2.52 pitch. I got a set of MMP rail extensions and thier big wheel kit. It was super simple to do, only thing i wish i would have done different is put a 159 on instead.
