Table Mountain fire

Eastside of blewitt is black. Should be some great riding this year. Near the summit on the north side the fire was to the road. All underbrush was gone! Wish it would have jumped the road and headed west....as long as folks were safe.

Came in on DAL yesterday - crossed Lake Chelan about 4 o'clock and got a good view of the fires south of the lake. Was on wrong side of plane to see the table mountain fire. Saw enough mayhem as it was.

Further east, near Lake Roosevelt it was rather smokey as well. Couldn't see th specific fire points.

Hope the feds don't close the fire areas . . . .

I was up there archery hunting when it blew up. I have never seen anything like it. I spent the remainder of the week on my bike watching the fires first hand keep growing. Just me and my wr watching one heli trying to do what he could for the first three days. I bet it stays closed for the sled season. They are just starting the rehab now. I have a bud that lives just below the snow park and if it gets nasty enough i may have to sneak in and have a look. Been hunting that unit for 40 years and really want to get back in there.:face-icon-small-sad

They can keep it closed for public safety(falling trees, rolling rocks, ect...) The Forest Service is starting that process now.

GIS folks are on staff so the extra cost may be some Hazard pay:face-icon-small-con, overtime, or the reallocation of resources from the important task of mapping new off limit areas for snowmobilers. They probably spent the bulk of additional money setting up the very important Table Mountain Wildfire Facebook page!:face-icon-small-win
