gernaded the first belt yesterday, approx 450 km,secondary seemed way hotter than primary, also somtimes comming down hills it is freewheeling ,clutches dissengaged and then sometimes it has braking with the clutches then i hear a chirp and they let go.something is not quite right here, any ideas?

Ive blown two on our 1100t both with less then 300 miles on them. One only had 120 miles. Secondary is twice as hot as primary.

Sounds similar to mine. Had the Jack shaft nut in the chain case come loose allowing the secondary clutch to walk in and out under load.

Dealer told us that the jack shaft issue did not effect the turbos, said that they dont even use the same type of retention system. Is this true or not, thanks.

I have gone through 4 belts in about 440 miles, two of them less then 60 miles. It's bull crap and dealer saying they can't find a problem.

My 1100t secondary is always hotter than my primary. Put MDS weights in for the ride yesterday. Really cooled the clutch temps down, especially the primary. I have heard the the bushings in the secondary sticks allowing the belt to slip there and get hot.

Belt mileage

Have over 600 miles on original belt...knock on wood. All stock clutching for first 350.

Well your dealer is wrong. Once you remove the reverse gear system in the chain case, its basically identical to the 800 except the jackshaft is a tad bit longer. Same update washers as the 800.

First belt at 450 miles, 2nd, 480 miles 3rd 550 miles , found that the jackshaft was out 90 thou, fixed it , 4th, 720 miles, 5th, 740 miles , 6th 780 miles , checked jackshaft again, out 90 thou, :censored: fixed again , 7th 880 miles , 8th 920 miles..... you guessed it , jackshaft out by 90 thou again , Its in the shop getting tore down right now :face-icon-small-fro

I have 600 miles on my M 1100 T this season on the original belt. I also have a hijacker and silencer....No problems what so ever....

made it to 598 before my first belt went. very similar inside the chain case minus the mechanical reverse, 1100 t's use a 15w upper gear and chain.

The jackshaft nut is the same as the 800 and I have seen them loose. If the shaft is sliding out of spec .090" Then the nut is loosening. Make sure it is tightened to 50ft/lbs and that the retainer in locked into the slot.

Still on my original belt.

1065 miles on original belt on my 1100T and it was tortured my last ride at renshaw a week ago with warm outside temps. I put the old style mseries intake frogskins on the inside of the clutch duct and the other one behind it that points right at the engine. No more belt slipping playing in powder or steam clouds.

Jack shaft nut came loose at 300 mile mark. Dealer did retourque nut and it was good till now. Maybe nut come loose again? Also had the primary stick a couple times after long pull up the hill.
