T-post splines, or lack thereof...

Took a pretty big hit into the bars last week, and rotated the bar/risers at the point where they attach to the t-post. Splines are fugly now. Any tips/tricks on securing the riser back to the t-post with jacked-up splines? Seems like I break or bend a steering shaft every season, so I'd like to try to make this one last until the snow is gone. It's on an '08RMK7.

I have had luck using loctite thread lock. Just smear it on the bars before clamping it down and will help hold things in place and not let them slip.
