T-motion on a Pro

are these the same people who feel the xp handled better once you "learned how to ride it"?

LOL, yep and thats the one thing i find so funny, and confusing. It actually makes more sense for the Pro riders to like this set-up. Makes no sense for the XP fans to like it.
And if you took and XP, narrowed the ski stance that much, break the track sides, then compare, you may be surprised at how much easier the OLD XP handles.
Me, i really like the new XM......... so far.

i honestly don't think the T motion will hold up. I have never had a rear skid last me two seasons. be it the assault skid, ez-ryde, IQR skid long tracked, old style holtz. With more moving parts i think a couple hard hits landing sideways and it will be done

We have to wait for hard pack snow and them we will see how XM handles. sleds are easy to handle in good powder but when snow is hard pack it is totally different game.

It's designed for a mountain sled but who knows , it might corner pretty good since it's allowed to flex ?

I rode a XM this weekend for a few hours and can honestly say it is nothing like an XP in the handling department. I too thought it was a gimick, but cant deny that it works. I dont beilieve that the difference all comes from just the suspension change, but all of the chassis changes too. This particular unit was stock out of the box, and the front end felt a little more squirrely than my pro, but that can be adjusted. The transition from my Pro to the XM was actually quite easy to do. They are not the same, but similar. Like it or not, the XM is gonna give the pro a run for its money. I wouldnt be worried about the durability of the T-Motion, im sure it will outlast the Pros driveshaft, and easier to fix.

I rode an XM last spring. Felt like an XP with a couple bandaids to me.
I didn't care for it.

If you think the Pro needs help get some Airframes, Bomberboards, or BM Fab boards. They are stiffer and transfer rider input directly to the sled instead of flexing like stock boards.

It is a good thing Doo has the better engine is my opinion because anything that creates misalignment of the track as the t-motion does should be efficient at robbing horse power! I wouldnt expect to see any drag sleds putting on in to create track binding and misalignment. Strength?...looks pretty sketchy. I am sure that there will be a lot more wearing of drivers bearings etc. But if it fixes the horrible xp platform that's hard to argue with! Also a wobbly suspension and flaccid track is hardly what I would call a new platform "XM" seems a bit lazy to rebrand instead of redesigning the platform. 4 degrees is a ton of play especially when as pointed out the front swing arm doesn't pivot going to be really interesting to see the effects on rails with all that twisting. I'm sure they did their FEA though unlike the fly by the seat of their pants geniuses at Cat. Keep in mind FEA isn't always right in fact it is very frequently horribly wrong! Should be considerable fatigue on the rails from added twisting and aluminum cannot be designed for infinite life as steel. At any rate I would kill to have the E-tec but not yet sure I would ride a Doo to have one.

I don't ride a Poo or either like them though minus their engines.

Rode a XM with t-motion last ride and all I can say is WOW. You really have to ride one to believe it. I have never been on a sled that is that easy to handle. It honestly made my 13 pro feel kinda like a tank. This is a pretty hard pill for me to swallow as I have up until this point absolutely hated the way Doo's handled. I still dont like the steering but Im sure thats something you could adapt too.

the idea of a skid that allows some degree of motion of internal parts on a pro like the tmotion coupled with a 36" stance and a 15" wide track missing the outside fiberglass would be interesting for sure and would probably make the pro unstable to the point it would be hard to ride.

You have no idea of how many guys want that machine , it's close but , it also has to have the dependability of a dirt bike . That right there says it's still years in the making unfortunately .

I guess I think of the Tmotion concept like have a ski boot that had a hinge on the side of the ankle so that you could bend your ankle/foot relative to the slope, therefore keeping the ski flat on the snow. I don’t think that would have been a good approach for skiing and I question it on a snowmobile.

The stock front ski on a Hawk pivots so it bites more in the corners , without it , it washes out easier .

It's really entertaining to read some of these posts. Some of you guys are diamonds in the rough (yet to be discovered by the sled manufacturers), and should consider a career change into R&D - Test Dev. After all........., none of the engineers that the sled manufactures have hired know their head from their arse right? :face-icon-small-con

All the manufacturers have made great strides over the last number of years, and unless you have equal experience and time on each current model, how can one's opinion on another sled carry any weight? Just my .02.

I saw this on face book. Vilhelmina motor center ab page. It looks like that t motion had some issues.

Watch for doo coming out with a redesigned Summit in 14. There's more going on there. The competition will be heating up more.
