SX-Viper question

I have a friend who has one of these, it has aftermarket (bender I believe??) pipes, and a van amburg hillclimb tunnel.

The cooler that Van Amburg sent him with the tunnel is about the size of a magazine, and he is having cooling issues all the time. Mostly going up to the riding areas. It will on occasion spew coolant out the overflow, but rarely.
The board edges, and the tunnel is cooking hot when it over heats.
He is inquiring about a longer cooler, but for some reason Van Amburg is not replying, and hasn't gotten back to him... all summer..
He has scratchers, on the skis, and on the skid. but still is not enough.

Anyone have any suggestions? I was wondering myself if removing the thermostat helps, and if so.... how much??

Thanks in advance..

Tell him to look at the u=cooler that VA has I beleive they were an after thought to the tunnel because of the overheating issue., if not, he will need an additional cooler piggy backed somehow. Show some pics too, them old yammis were awesome with the va tunnels.

Have you checked the flow? There could be an obstuction in the sytem.
Is the Front Cooler still in place, I've seen some VA tunnels with the front coolers removed to allow for taller tracks and better snow evacuation.
I have a Eckholm Tunnel with a U-Cooler in the back on mine with a 835 Bender Motor and don't have any problems.

Well, it is a new application, so I would have thought Van Amburg would have had something like this figured out.

He took his viper, and put the tunnel on last fall. It has a small cooler, like the size of a macbook
I doubt a blockage is the cause, it is hot all the way around the tunnel edges, and into/ out of the motor.

Not sure about the front cooler, I believe it is still in.

Thanks for the reply.... hopefully the "lurker" will get the balls to post on here.
