SX CDI or Mapping Switch ktm300xc

I was curious if installing the mapping switch would be just the same as getting a whole new SX cdi box for the 300?? I mean it would be a much cheaper alternative to achieve more aggressive power from the bottom to the top. I know you want to do the high compression head and the cdi box to really make these 300s sing! but just curious if you change the mapping if that would essentially be the same as a new cdi box???

No. The SX , CDI is not accessible on the 300 with just installing the switch. You need the 250SX CDI box. The 300 has two maps in it. They are changed by connecting, or dis-connecting the "white" single plug under your gas tank. But again, neither of those are the SX Map.

Does the map switch have any function with the SX CDI ???
I plugged in the SX CDI and haven't been able to try the xcw ignition because its too much fun!

I have the SX CDI ignition and map Switch. While I can't say for sure there are two maps in that ignition box, to me it feels like there is a difference between the hi and lo switch settings.
