Switching rides, from M7 to RMK 700 ???

I have a 2005 M7 162" with over 4000 miles that I love, but it’s starting to get worn out. It’s time to think about replacing my most favorite sled I’ve ever had. I don't have the money right now to buy new, but I know of a 2007 RMK Dragon 700 155" that the owner is thinking of selling. I know him and the sled, it’s a mint condition, low mileage machine. My question is for anybody who has ridden both, would it be a good sled to replace mine with or would I be wishing I was still riding an M series?

The RMK is a good sled, but I would sharpen your pencil on the maintenance needed on your M7 compared to purchase of the Dragon and factor depreciation on both before making a move. You will not be gaining performance going to the dragon, simply buying down the miles on your sled.

I rode a RMK 700 this last weekend. It was a brand new sled with 33 miles on it. I had a blast. Good chassis.......(very similar to the M-series) and I was impressed with the linear power of the 700. Light, nimble, fun!

I normally ride a M1000 with a few tweeks, and I love my M. The RMK 700 didn't have the power but I was still smiling all day.

Over all build quality, maintenance, durability and re-sale are all issues that I would look into with someone who has more experience with the Polaris brand or has experience with the multiple brands.

great sled..but I think you'll be wishing you were back on the M. The iq chassis likes to dive a little more than the M. It is a great chassis/sled, but still not as nimble as an M. IMO. However, the POL 700 has more power than the Cat 700

I really really like the RMK chassis, had a D8 for a couple seasons. It is very similar to the newer M chassis with the higher seats, or an older M with a boss seat. The 700 motor is great.

I had no issues with my Dragon maintenance wise.

I do like my new M8 better than the D8, more powwwwwer!

I gave up my M8 162 last weekend to some bent rails and road my brother in laws 155 RMK and oh my, Did I miss the 162 track. You take for granted how easy it is to come to a stop and take off in deep powder conditions. I got that thing stuck in situations that never would have happened with the 162. Perform your needed repairs and roll!!!
