Switching rides, from M7 to RMK 700 ???

I have a 2005 M7 162" with over 4000 miles that I love, but it’s starting to get worn out. It’s time to think about replacing my most favorite sled I’ve ever had. I don't have the money right now to buy new, but I know of a 2007 RMK Dragon 700 155" that the owner is thinking of selling. I know him and the sled, it’s a mint condition, low mileage machine. My question is for anybody who has ridden both, would it be a good sled to replace mine with or would I be wishing I was still riding an M series?

my dad has an 07 dragon with the slp single....and i LOVE it. the only thing it needs is to loose the stock WE shocks. i've only ridden m selds a handful of times and i like the iq rax chassis a lot better. i think it is an upgrade over your current sled.

I've ridden both and owned a D7. I don't think they compare. I think the IQ chassis is hands down better than the M chassis and the D7 motor is stronger than the M7 even though they both rate at 140 HP. The M7 had some bog issues to deal with while the Polaris was pretty much bullet proof. If all of this doesn't convince you then think about it how easy the Polaris will be to back off of your trailer!

I have rode both and have a M7 think you would be making a mistake the front end on the m7 feels much lighter and more nimble than the poo, and the m7 has more power.

I thought that about my Rmk at first to,then I dropped the limiter strap one hole and it made a big difference on how light the front end felt. My 700cfi runs right beside a M8,I dont think a M7 would have more power then that M8.

Hell in a drag race at cooke last weekend a stock 700 rmk kicked my *** on my 800 dragon.... Granted i had about 10 miles since my new top end (oil in my tank, but stil! that is impressive!

I have been on m7's, they are good sleds, but the RMK is better...

I learned to ride the back-country on the exact same 05 M7 162 and i loved it! I started riding an 08 700 RMK in 08 and loved it even more than the M7 because of reverse and sharper turning. Ride and handling are a lot the same besides that. I'd go for the 700 RMK because the sharper turning and reverse.

I think you would be happier on a M8, if you have liked the way you M7 has been handling. The IQ RMK and the M Sleds have there own type of ride, but all around I think the M8 is a better sled for the money, especially if your going to keep it stock. And a 700RMK with get out climbed by a M8 on almost all deep snow climbs because of the lousy polaris track. Please remember this is coming from a Polaris owner, and you are in the polaris section.
