Switchback 800 gearing

What sort of recommendations you guys have for the gearing. Building the sled to be used in powder mostly, ocaasional trail riding too but I´d like to set it up so that I dont end up getting blown belt every third minute when playing in snow.

Last winter I destroyed two belts, total mileage was 1000 miles and most of it was on trails. When I got to deep snow the belt heats up very quickly.

The sled is basically std, 23-39 gearing, secondary is std. I had the std black green spring on the primary, but it felt like the engine revs too much and I tested 120-300 spring on it. Seemed to work better on trail use.

Ive been told 90% of the belt issues would be caused by the very long gearing it has. What should I go to..21-41, 20-43 or what?

Thanks in advance.

22/40 works great with the stock track, 21/40 or 41 if deeper lugged. Install a 719 helix in there and put it in the 66/44-.46 notch along with 2 delrin bushings, big jump from stock but this will help tremendously! And make sure left front engine mount isn't broken and make sure the primary works freely and is balanced...

Forgot to mention I changed the track after buying the thing. Its running 144 1,75 backcountry now.

Need to check that engine mount, tbh Ive had that in my mind as last time at spring when I was taking the sled into the shed I let it run hot. Applying throttle did cause the engine to move quite much which deffo did not appear to be normal, the track was spinning in the air after all so did not give very much load to the engine.

How would the 21/40, 66/44.46 and delrins affect to trail riding? Does it rev much say like on 50mph?

Go 21/41, will work better offtrail. The helix will shift better overall, and be alot quicker but rpms will be normal or better, no overrevving...
