it is alot better for what you ride. I would drill out the rivets and pop the bushings off and then take the bolt out of the back of the trailing arm and you can slide the sway bar out

I bought a '99 700 RMK that the sway bar had already been removed on. It did help it lay over better, but it was a hog on the trail. I upgraded to an '05 700 RMK and left the bar in. Granted, I'm 6'5" so when I stand up and lean it leans. One thing I noticed between these two sleds was the ability of the front end to stay up out of the snow when I sidehilled. The sway bar stiffened up the uphill ski so I had less drag and it was also more responsive when I was counter-steering than having the belly pan dragging all the time. I also like to lay the sled over and cut cookies and with the sway bar out, it let the front end lay in the snow and made it harder to do. Both sleds were 144", so maybe if you are running a longer track it will be different.

I would also drill the rivets out and take the thing out whole if you do it.

Cut it off with a grinder as close as you can to the bellypan on both sides, then simply pull it out. You will never look back, and wish you had done this years ago...cheapest mod you can do to this sled and you will NEVER put it back on once you try it without.
