Swaybar- In or out?

I have a 144" Apex, do most of my riding in the UP of michigan with a trip out to the Rockies once a year. For boondocking and tree riding is the sled better with the sway bar in or out? Had absolutely no problem laying the sled over with the sway bar in. Took it out over summer for the fun of it. Now after doing some reading it seems that a few people (not neccesarily with Yamaha's) seem to think there sled is more stable in a carve or sidehill with the sway bar in.

Luckily it's not to big of deal to take the bar in or out. Just looking for some opinions.

i left mine in till i got fox floats. my swaybar will never go back in again. handles just fine on the trails with out it.

Yup... only with proper shocks though. You'll kill yerself on an MTX Nytro with OEM shocks and bar out...

I must be the exception to the rule. I tried it on two trips and hated it. I'm not talking about trail riding eiter, all off trail stuff. I didnt see any gains from it but did feel it made the front end very unstable on landings. Eric

I rise in northeast Saskatchewan. Lots of powder but no hill climbing. A t home I run a 12 mm sway bar (10mm stock) out of a RTX. 162 apex rocks as a cross country sled. When I go to BC I take the sway bar out.

What is concedered proper shocks?
I take you dont like the stock ones
with just buying a sled that might be all I can afford
so I should leave the the swaybar hooked up?

Floats, zbroz, something like those. The OEM's just don't cut it... even WITH the SB hooked up.

You can unhook them, tie them up and try it, but be careful. I'll guarantee you won't enjoy the ride!

the 2010's don't come factory with a swaybar, although they have fox floats. so take the sways out and upgrade your shocks like everyone has said:D

I am new to Yamaha and think I will pull the swaybar on the Nytro but how many PSI should I be running in the Fox Floats?

with the floats its really how u prefer the sled to handle. i would say start at 70psi and work ur way up. i usually run 95psi in the fronts on my apex.

depends on your size and how you ride the sled sits to low in the front for me with 75 lb of pressure in the front I run mine at 150psi My dealer rode mine and hated it he was not able to pull it over with the 150 I let it down to 75 and he like it alot better to me it was to soft and it was even more of a plow with the low pressure. they are easy to change just play with them till you like them.

good shocks bar in garbage.....but i will say if u run trails heavy bar in shocks stiff and haul ***....:p:p... ive tried 3 diff front bars in my apex and just leave them out unless its a special ride trail only..then the stiffest one goes in.
