sway bar????

has anyone tried riding with the sway bar(stabalizer bar) in.....then out? i know what it will do when out down the road....but i would like some opionions of people that have done this!! ( not sure if there is enough snow yet to get some good opinions) mountain and boondocking only please!!!!

To do it right you would have to revalve your front shocks because they would be to soft. To honest the sled just lays over so nice now, even when ridding slow in the trees with the swaybar installed. and no i haven't tried it because of the time in revalving... I don't want to be down that long this sled is to dam fun the way it is now..

I personally hate the way the sway bar feels. Havent't rode with one since I can remember. Currently waiting on a set of Z-bros arms, and Fox Evol X's, so I can get rid of the thing. Like the above post said. the stock shocks would be too spongy IMO to run w/o the bar

And how many miles have you ridden your 11' Pro or Assault?

The sled justs rocks with what it has now. I guess if your some sick *** mtn rider that can do things on a non-swaybar Pro that no one else can do then pull it. But I can't see any advantages in it with the pro. I have a Turbo Assault with exit x1 shocks all the way around and i would never do anything diff. there but, with the pro that is a whole diff. story. It's a whole new ball game with this beast, she will and has changed riding sleds as we know it... Just my take on this and YES i have real miles on it... lol lots for Nov. Please keep snowing!!!!

just rode mine yesterday, 2nd ride, first with the sway bar back at home sitting on the bench. if your a roll and go rider you will most defiantley want to pull the sway bar. trust me once its out you won't put it back. if you like a stiffer front end and/or better trail handleing i'd leave it in. shocks do not need to be revalved, i was riding with an 11 assault and without the swaybar my pro was still stiffer than the assault. rolls perfect now to the left, still too stiff going right. read a post where someone had put the right ski to the inside position to help aleviate this, gonna try that next time. sled rolls easier and quicker but you do loose trail rideability but thats a trade off i'll take any day!!!

I am over 100 as of today, and still am planning on taking the sway bar off as soon as my new arms get to me! IMO a sway bars only useful function on a sled, is to make it handle on the trail or hard pack better. Thats fine for some, but I have no interest in that. I will sacrifice the trail ride for better performance in the deep. And yes, I have rode it in the deep already, and noticeably disliked the feel of the front end. I consider myself a good mountain rider, but in no way trying to say that I can pull off maneuvers that others can't, just that I definitely prefer riding without a swaybar.

thanks for the info....i usually take mine off and throw it as far as i can, i will try it both ways.....im sure it will get flying lessens! dont care what the sled does going down the road...just when i hit the trees!

Unhooked my swaybar and added 1/4" of preload to the ski shock springs.

I also moved the right ski to the narrowest setting.

Seems to roll in even easier.

Rode back on the whooped out trail and used the "max mph" on the guage and saw that I hit 50 mph on the trail with no swaybar. Didn't realize I was going anywhere near that fast-- sled felt totally planted.

This weekend I will ride my sled with the above setup back to back with my GF stock Pro and see how they feel.

I think the swaybar will stay unhooked.
