Sway bar removal?

Hey yall....
I have an 07 rev summit 800 151 its my 1st sled I'm 6ft 186lbs etc.... and my friend was saying that I should take off my sway bars. So what are the pros and cons of taking them off? I have been using it with the sway bars on for about a year. I mostly climb and jump but i have to ride the trails to get there so what should i do? BTW If any of you have instructions on how to remove them it would be much appreciated ;)
Thanks:D

I had that same sled and this will be my 4th season sledding. I started on a 800 zx 2003 and I loved it however i found it hard to get over and carve. I weight 138. A guy on these forums helped me out and said take off your sway bar! I was like what the hell is a sway bar...he explained and I did as he said I cut it out as he said you will never want it back. He was right the sway bar moved the suspension together so you have to be stronger or bigger to get the machine over. That is why you see so many guys standing on one side of the machine to get it over to carve. The fact is to carve the machine properly you do not need to do this as it happens with throttle and counter sterring. with the sway bar out this is easier to do as the suspension works more independently. I carve the deep powder and through the trees and that is what i love. If you want to be the fastest on a trail you will want the sway bar in! I do not care how fast I get to the goods as i will get there a little slower but when I am there my machine performs better. The new xps carve so well with the sway bar however you don't get the hrshness or any kick back if you hit some hard snow with the sway bar out which is why I took it out on my new 09....on your 07 you can undo the plastic pieces and tape up the sway bar and see what it is like for a day or more and make you decision...the bar will wiggle out of the tunnel if you want to take it right off...just one guys 2 cents.

I have the exact same sled in addition to being the same height and weight, so I think I know what you are trying to accomplish with your set-up.

I disconnected the sway bar last year and like the results. I also lighted my shocks yesterday and am considering loosening the limiter straps as well.

I was able to disconnect my sway bar, push it back, and put a couple bolts in it which caught on my skid plate. Therefore, I could reinstall if I wanted.

Once again, this all depends on what type of snow you typically ride.

sway bar removal

I am willing to come over to your house and remove it for you if I can have it. I am looking for a sway bar for one of my sleds and I think this would be a fair trade. I am in CDA. let me know
