Sway Bar removal convert!

Yesterday I unhooked the sway bar on my 2006 skidoo summit 800 144"and rode some nice pow-pow....

For me it was the bomb. My skill level is somewhere between advanced novice to intermediate. I am a big rider, 250 and for the first time I felt the sled, felt the track.

On trail it was slightly more wobbley....but it still felt better. In powder, I was leaning it over carving and making progress on my counter steer learning.

Thanks to all the posters on that discussed this powder mod. I am converted!

Love sledding...love my first good powder day!

For the first time ever I reluctantly took the sway bar off my 06 Rev. Once I did I swore I would never ride with one on again (I loved it). I rode my 09 XP for two years and then the same thing. Now I have my XM and I am once again reluctant to remove the sway bar.
NTO

With the XM you will need to disconnect both sides of the sway bar!!! Otherwise, it will not work out.

Took my sway bar out at .2 miles. It sucks on the trail because it wants to roll in the corners but you slow down and get off the trail as fast as you can.

Unhooking 1 side is the same as unhooking both on the XM. It's the same as all the other ones.

I unhooked it on my Rev, and my XP, but I tried it for 2 rides on my XM, and hooked it back up. I like it better hooked up on the XM. It's already very easy to lay over with it in, and it's almost scary on the trails with it out.

Voids Doo's product liability coverage for bad handling on the trail, but it makes a real mountain sled out of the stock rev. I cut mine out with a blow torch and threw it in the garbage.
Sometime after that the motor blew up... so I switched to a M8 which doesn't have one.

Cheers,

Never looked back

I was reluctant to remove mine on my 06' summit as well. Then I ended up breaking it, removed it and never looked back. Hell, I don't even have to stand up to sidehill, or carve turns anymore if I don't want. Being 250lbs helps too of course....
