swaping 155 skid and track for 144?

Can it be done? looking for a little less track for the trail in my 2012 pro rmk 155.direct swap? Tunnel length that much diff? Or swap my rails for 144-146 and use stock parts and locations? Any info be nice and if anyone wants to trade let me know. Thanks

What skid are you planning on using? Stock switchback assault skid should bolt in. I would shorten the tunnel if I was you. One good wheelie and you'll have it bent. Stephen Darcy did one last year and cut his tunnel down

Im going to be doing this to my '12 when i order a new sled. Either this summer or next. Here is a link to a thread i started, was kinda wondering a few things myself, before i for sure decide. Others posted some links in it to Darcy's and others that have done so...

I will definitely be chopping my tunnel down, and doing some other mods when i get around to doing it.

'12 is a good year due to the chaincase. Which i plan on using lots of gearing set ups. Lots of track options for 144 & 146. And i think its even doable for going 144 and running 146 tracks. Ive thought a 1.25 or 1.35 track with a few studs may be good, and being able to throw on a 2.5" for a back-up sled out west would be ideal. But ill prob end up going 1.5" for midwest and just forget the studs. No tunnel protectors, can use one driver setup, and i havent used studs in a decade in the midwest (really havent missed em).

The 155 Pro is definitely doable riding in the midwest, but it is a handful.

I have a 144 skid with all new bearings, rebuilt shocks, and a 146x2.4 series 5.1 polaris track. I would entertain the the idea of converting mine to a 155 if someone wanted to swap skids and track.

Pro is coolant challenged already, chopping the tunnel will reduce it more. May not be an issue, but something to consider. On a RMK with a front cooler, shouldn't be an issue at all.

The 144 skid uses different mounting dimensions than the 155. Not sure you can swap them without moving the mounting brackets.
