Hrmm I just heard that AC will be losing the Suzuki bond here pretty quick like...

I wonder if Polaris will be getting in bed with them? This chassis with a Suzuki motor.... Yowwww! Gimmmeeeee

Now why would polaris do a dumb thing like that? this 800 is an awesome motor,oh yeah you handful of guys that had motor problems deemed it a **** motor outside of the thousands that have had not a problem with them plus this 800 runs the *** off of the suzuki 800,how about we go off of real life instead of these factory hp ratings numbers don't really prove anything in a pissing contest.

HP to wieght ratio and putting the power to the snow efficiently (clutching, belt drive, skid, etc.) is why the Polaris can compete with the higher hp 800's. Now add another 20+ hp to the Polaris and it kills the other 2 IMO

Is the Suzuki motor a heavy motor like the Etec?? Anyone know what it wieghs compared to the Polaris or Etec?

This would be a dream if this happened next year. 163hp stock and really reliable to add boost too, I'll take one.

You got your big boy internet pants
on huh! My 800 hasn't had issues yet but its no secret that over the years the Suzuki 8 has held together much better than the liberty 8 and I'd like some of that!

Pol is going to have to get to direct injection somehow to meet EPA regs and Suzuki at this time is a dirty motor that's why cats going a different direction IMO. I think Yamaha and cat are going to join forces and share sled tech. The industry is shrinking and without a lot of backing I think both programs are on the chopping block.

Oh, I heard their contract was just up? So it's a deal where cat is walking away from Suzuki because of emissions?

Sled sales are down and the atv market is very strong. I guessing Yamaha and cat are working something out that is going to be big in 2014. It would not surprise me to see a 2 stroke di from Yamaha. Cat has the prowler and I think Yamaha wants it and the rights to sell a sidebyside without getting sued. Cat has cut it's rd in the west. Yamaha and cat are really trying to clear there 13 inventory out. I bought my first pol since 05 this year will test this 800 out. Everyone bitches about the reliably of a 150hp 800 don't expect more than 1200 to 1500 miles out of it with out working on the top end. Happy trails

Suzuki and Arctic Cat will still remain in close ties. Arctic Cat, recently just bought back 60million shares of an Suzuki owned 80 million shares of Arctic Cat Inc. The motor components will still be manufactured by suzuki, the engine assembly and R&D will be in Thief River Falls. Claud Jordan, Cat's CFO, is bringing jobs stateside. Not sending them to Mexico.

If they truly are bringing jobs back to the US from overseas, I applaud Arctic Cat. If every American company did that imagine how great the economy would be.

Arctic Cat will be building the same motor Suzuki has been putting out so I highly doubt Polaris and Suzuki will work together anytime soon it would be very hard to design another motor as awesome as the 800 H.O. As for the guy that thinks the pro motor is awesome and runs the *** off an Arctic Cat I don't think it would be fair game if Polaris had the Suzuki in it cause when it comes to two-stokes everyone would buy a pro being that they would be have more power and much better reliability than the engine it would replace and any other two-stoke and oh yea the awesome pro chassis on top of that.

Yup and arctic cat always has engineered there motors, suzuki was just a milling/assembly facility for cat. Cat built a whole new facility just for engine building, and hired a bunch of americans!

Very commendable move as most other companies are going the other route....

AC designed the 800ho and owns the rights. Unfortunately, Poo won't get close to it. Suzuki owned the designs of virtually all other 2 strokes. That's why there were almost always 2-4 Japanese nationals in TRF most of the year. AC has been trying to get out from under the Suke motors for 15 years, they have much more lead time and margin control if they make motors, than buy them. They finally pulled it off.

Nothing wrong with that!
