suv vaporized by truck

Yeah....NASTY.
That was on here in another thread last month. It's definately making the rounds.

I hope I'm right on this one...but does anyone else think that video is fake? I was on a VFD for a few years and unfortunately was involved with a few fatal accidents, one which included a suburban that was in a very similar accident. He lost control and slid sideways into an incoming semi, both were over driving conditions and traveling at about 65 mph. The damage was bad, but nothing like what is seen in that video. I’ve never seen a car literally explode like that, honestly I don’t even know if an explosion like that would be possible unless the car is made of plastic or the speeds involved were over 100 mph. You wouldn’t see that much debris come from a shell that’s basically one solid piece of steel. Also, there is audio of the impact but nothing else…I can’t imagine if this was really a dash cam that the officer driving the car would not have some type of verbal reaction. Also, the last car you see before the video ends doesn’t even appear to be slowing down or its brake lights lit up. I also searched for this and couldn’t find any type of news story related to the accident. I could be wrong, I hope I’m wrong, but I’m calling BS.

That was a real accident, happened just south of Fort MacMurray Alberta.
Rumor is it was caused by using cruise control in winter conditions...

The driver of the camera rig definately said something. I can't really make it out, but she does have a reaction.

Well unfortunately I was wrong. It did happen, not in Canada but in Russia.

- February 24, about 18 hours and 20 minutes on the 109-kilometer highway M-7 Volga car driver «Nissan Navara» - Moscow resident born in 1980 lost control and performed on a collision with a motor vehicle "GAZ", - said Mikhail Maslov, an inspector Traffic Police Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Vladimir region. - As a result, «Nissan Navara» drove into oncoming traffic and collided with a Freightliner truck and a car "VAZ 21723". From his injuries SUV driver died at the scene. In addition, the driver suffered "Lada." With numerous cut wounds a person was hospitalized. Now the traffic police department investigation Petushki district conducted investigation verification.

- Driver "Nissan" was named Alexander. He was a good guy, an experienced driver. I was driving home to his wife and children - he has two of them ... - A message on one of the sites put a familiar victim. - The funeral will be held February 28 in Balashikha ... For us it is a tragedy ... It's such grief. No one understands how it all could happen. "

People just superstitious the idea that the driver of "Nissan" has become another victim of an enchanted road, any way is considered part of the road near the village of Omutischi. November 3, 2007 around 11:00 pm it was on the 109th kilometer of the route Moscow - Ufa crashed theater and film actor Aleksandr Dedjushko. In the car, "Toyota Picnic" also had a wife a son eight years. On that tragic day were terrible weather conditions, it was snowing. The actor lost control, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a truck "for sale". All three died on the spot. And in March 2009 about this same passenger bus collided with a truck "KamAZ". As a result, both vehicles caught fire. Killed 12 bus passengers - businessmen from Ulyanovsk, and both drivers.

If you do not take into account the mystical version, February 23 it was snowing. The video of the tragedy shows that the "Nissan" touched the wheel "furrow" of wet snow and then threw the first car to the right by a passing "Gazelle" and then tossed into the oncoming lane. Perhaps the accident would not have happened if the road cleaned. And even more so there would be a terrible collision, if it stood on this site "bump" on the need for a long time that experts say. However, to get a comment about the timing of the installation facility, the Office of the highway Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod, the Federal Road Agency, we have not succeeded. Phones just do not meet

Dam,

It looked like the nissan blew up but if you look close there is still a large ball of metal in front of and in the hood of the truck. Its just the blur and small pieces flying that makes it appear that way.

Must be why we have guard rails and barriers to divide or highways eh.

There was one in front of my shop where a women (german) driving a ford temp turned in front of a fully loaded truck and trailer head on traveling at 65mph. The first impact was on the front corner of the front bumper, mangled the front wheel, crushed the cab of the car ripping the passenger door off, ripped the car into two pieces behind the front seats (only held together by about 8" of metal) scattered both passenger side doors, rear wheel and strut, quarter panel, bumper, trunk lid etc... down the highway a 100yards.
The woman got out and walked away, when it crushed the cab it pushed the roof right up against the woman's head and held her in position. Crazy chit
It looked horrible because she had a case of raspberry jam in the trunk that went every where,

Watched it again for the 10th time, LOL.
I'm not sure I can ID it as a Nissan.

What is it an Armada or a Pathfinder?
