Suspension Tuning Suggestions, Help Required...

Gentleman,
I have a 05 900 with a 166" track that i am now finally able to get it to where i want to go! Sort of... I am at the point where i am fine tuning things and wondering what the best thing to do with the suspension? I have it set up as far as my weight goes and what the manual recommends. I read a post where a guy says to tighten the front shocks as tight as they will go to stiffen things up for better control on edge and getting it there. Any thoughts on this or suggestions? I am in the East Kootenays of BC in deep snow and pretty much straight up and down.
Cheers

First thing to do is put in a 225# front track shock spring...it will help take weight off the nose of the sled.
You can let your limiter straps out to achieve the same thing too.

DON'T crank your front shocks down. Sled suspension need to be able to work and flex in order to do its job, it has to have the ability to easily collapse and rebound. The heavy feeling front end is solved by the above....updated spindle will help as well.

That's great. I think i will go ahead and try a stronger shock spring.
I was also looking into getting better spindles like you mentioned but not sure who will have these? I know Timbersled has them but only with the A-Arms included in the kit. Would the A-Arms make much of a difference or just stick with the spindles?
Thanks,

Holz has spindles or you can try to get your hands on some 08 ish dragon spindles...probably cheaper.
You may want to lay the front track shock down into the forward hole and for me, I removed the sway bar.

Holz does not do the spindles anymore. they sold the desgin to polaris and they are now installed factory on the 09 or 10-up IQR sleds...and they are only $107 each or so from polaris...this is a HUGE improovement over stock 05-07 sleds.

also get the better rear torsion springs, read the thread i started call "big boy torsion springs...inputs??" and you will get the exact info you need there.

also move your rear torque arm back 5/8" back in the rails and it will help with transfer and better rebound since the factory setup creates a dead spot.. ;)

Cheap and easy is to get all the shocks rebuilt if you have a couple of seasons on them, 225 spring on track shock while it's off.
Find some "used or take -off " spindles and drill your your rails as Guido said.
Keep your settings where they are then adjust if needed.
