suspension help m-10, ezryde

I'm sure this has been done before but I cant find the info im looking for
I have a timbersled right now but its not doing what im looking for, so on to the next one. For the guys that have tried both I have a mcx 270 on a nytro 162 I want to know if the ezryde is capable of keeping the ski lift under control. I know the m-10 does but is it a good all around skid or is it just for the steep stuff. I would like a skid that I can feel comfortable pointing it up a steep hill and know I'm going to be able to let out of the throttle and get back into it and not dig a 5 foot trench and come over backwards. I like the m-10 but can it be used in the trees, and is the ezryde going to keep the skis planted cause I know its good for the trees. Im just looking for a fix to the wheely issue its fun but not functional. thanks guys...

I have the m10 and it does keep the skis down, but too much in my opinion and we haven't been able to get enough transfer out of it for my liking. It is a 159 set back for 162 which everyone says hurts it some, but not sure it would hurt that much. Rides great on the trail and If you had the nads (i do not lol) it would let you climb anything your sled is capable of. I have thought of going to a timbersled or easyryde, but every time I think about it people who are "in the know" talk me out of it. So for now i will keep tuning. He ll maybe we should do a demo program and you try my m10 and i try your timber LOL.

good luck

Generally speaking, when you slide a skid back, you need to lower the front mounting holes. This will reduce the ski pressure.
You can also loosen your limiter straps and increase the preload and compression damping of your front shock (stiffen it up).
You would have been better off extending the rails.

I have spent alot of time on both set ups. They both have there pros and cons. I am still trying to get my ezryde set how I want but I dont think it will ever hold the skies down like a m10 but the ez ryde has other benefits.

Both are better then TS if you ask me.

I have a ezryde on my Nytro. At 12 PSI which is how much boost I ran up until last year it held the skis great but not that I am at 17 PSI I am having some difficulty getting the skis to stay down. At 12 psi I would get an ezryde for sure 17psi still working on it.

The Racers Edge skid works awesome, you can run a looser limiter and shorter coupler blocks to allow for more ski lift. The ride quality is very good as well. I've rode with 1/2 dozen of them in the last couple of years, you wouldn't be disappointed. IMO the Ez wheelie skid isnt going to keep the front down at 270 hp, definately not like an RE or M10. The best part of the RE skid, it bolts into the factory mounting holes and can be lengthened to a 174 later, just have to buy longer Ice Age Rails. :smow:

Ive rode on all of these skids as far as ski pressure goes in order of least to most its Timbersled, Ez Ryde, and then M10 if your a mountain rider who likes doing big pulls M10 all the way if not stick to the other 2 Ez-Ryde is a good all round skid.

what about the KMOD 2. I have heard alot about them but no real world experience on the nyto.

Any one else have experience with these?

my buddy has the kmod on his tnytro and spent all last season trying to get it dialed in works good now i asked him if i should go with it he said he would not again i am considering the nexteck mono shock rear carbon fiber skid but can't find and info on it just a little more expensive then the rest.

I'll report back in 5 or 6 weeks once I get some riding in. Just put a 162 coilover skid in my turbo nytro.

Do you have the latest updates on your timbersled skid
Rode my friends apex with the Mcx cranked up to 16 psi and the skis would just barely come up.
Randy swemson swears by the Timbersled skid when its set up right.
You running with all your coupler spacers on the bottom of the scissor to limit the transfer
Sorry for the bad punctuation my question mark button broke.

Gen 1 or 2?

What did your buddy have issues with on the Kmod? Ride issues or ski lift? I put a gen2 on my apex with the floats. Haven't had much time on it. Ride is stiffer than stock but keeps my tapex nose down. Will probably tune it some just curious what he had an issue with.

Last year I rode with a turbo guy out of Idaho that had the Timbersled suspension and he had it set up right.

It really worked for him. Maybe you could call Allen at Timbersled and set it up a little different and be happy with what you have. Save some money too.

Yes It would be interesting to know what the issues were with setting up the KMOD. I have really good things about them. but not sold on the floats. He has a coil over version now that should work much better.

This is the first negative i have read about them. Everyone who has the Gen II raves about it. I just installed a Gen II with coilovers last week. Looking forward to getting it out on the snow.
