i was wondering if a 162 skid out of a 2007 m7 will fit in my 2004 900 1m. And is this a better skid than my stock 159 skid. I am looking to change out my 159 2 inch 15 wide track to a 162 2.5 16 wide track . should i put on 7 tooth external drivers with that track and will that track fit in my tunnel. the 162 2.5 track is a 3 inch pitch. any thoughts would be nice.

It will fit BUT you will need to build some spacers for the front arm because the M series tunnels are more narrow then the 1M tunnel. As for the track change, you need to change to 3.0 drivers. To get a 16 wide to fit you need either sled junkie drop brackets OR, put larger wheels on the rear arm so the track goes over the drop brackets instead of between them. Other then that it fits fine.

Yes Rixster....please tell us more! Does it ride better than the stock. I know there is a better weight savings. I have heard both good and bad about the fox floats in the rear....what's your take?

I am not running a newer skid, so I couldnt tell you about the ride. Mu buddy rides a 06 king with fox floats on the rear. The few time I have ridden it I couldn't tell the difference. I guess on a hard packed rough trail it probably is better.

kmod w/ 162

I've got a kmod rear under my kk/mc chassis. It works great. I put a 162x16x2.5. Loved em both. I wrecked the sled so both are for sale if you are interested. The kmod made a huge difference w/ the ski lift. I had an 1107 tripple in the sled and it really helped w/ the handling when climbing. On the trail I was amazed how much it soaked up the bumps. the kmod comes w/ drop brackets for clarance. I put 3.0 extrovert drivers on for the track. Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions.
