I'm curious, what good do you think is going to come out of you filling out their survey? They are obviously only going to use the info for their benefit. It's not like this is a public opinion poll where all responses will be open for the public to view. It's also not like they're going to say, oh yeah maybe we should be nicer to snowmobilers and stop trying to close their land. Any nasty or ugly comments you wrote will only be used to fuel their fire against us.

You and ouraysledder can sit there and twiddle your thumbs since "nothing makes a difference". I'll still be writing letters and trying to voice my opinion any way I can.

It's hard to hear people make these comments. Our country wasn't built around the notion of "what good is it...". I understand your frustration and I'm not flaming you. But I'm not kidding when I say land management issues like this are a fight. The war is never over and we have to battle. There is nothing more that the Wilderness Workshop would like than for us to say "F it, I'm done dealing with them!".

I made my comments and tried to not fire my guns at them. I preach alternative designation to this group and have for years. I have even sat down with them in Eagle County to pitch this alternative to wilderness. They were all in with the concept of keeping oil & gas from dozing roads but still allowing sledding because of the impact difference. Now that effort has hit the political level where Polis has removed some of the areas our club was concerned about. Small victory but we are not done. We are still opposing wilderness. Don't give up...

I'm pretty active with my time and money in fighting Wilderness and land grab. I'm fully aware that it's a war. I just didn't see the benefit of doing an online poll with the enemy that's obvious purpose is for them to figure out how to better market themselves and recruit more people to fight against us. Just a small difference in opinion on how to execute with regards to this (opponent's) poll.

CO2.0 - what about my 1st comment said "nothing makes a difference"? I'm not super frequent around here... maybe you and Ouray have some history I'm unaware of... I wasn't aware that my comment was a declaration of whose team I'm on. :yield:

Here is my answer to #3.
A public lands conservation organization should consider all forums of public use, not just specific interests. Remember that different does not = wrong.
#8
The "quiet" aspect is elitist and exclusionary. Same mentality as different=wrong.
Took my time on this one.

I was more than reasonable in those comments. Hopefully that had some impact on the volunteer that reads it. I may not live in CO any longer but I still oppose their mission to get us out of the backcountry.

I replied that these policies are exclusionary and elitist. Additionally, I commented that land conservation organizations need to be more honest with the public that their motives are as much anti-capitalist as land conservation.

At least this way if they try and cite this "study" there is documented proposals coming in saying differently than they are coaching people through in their email flash.
