Survey: MCB vs Wiseco, US chrome vs Millennium

Millennium and MCB, Millennium is by far the better I have been using them for years with my mx bike I do the cylinder swap then you get a fresh clean cylinder and you wait half the time. A little more expensive but worth it. As for piston Go the MCB kit great price and it is a strong dual ring piston plus it comes with all the gaskets, and caged wrist pins you need. I am running MCB in both my 7 and 800. Also remember BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL TAKING OUT YOUR UN-CAGED WRIST PINS. Cover your crank case with a card board cut out or stuff it with rags.

I still dropped one in lucky i have a million small high power magnets. I made a card board cut out on the 2nd one I took off but still left the rags in.

Thanks for the input, I did get all the rollers out OK, used cardboard and the rag/ duct tape trick. I am considering the MCB dual rings but had one engine builder say they were junk because he had a skirt break off after 600 miles. Same builder also said Millenneum cylinders had problems also, something about not being honed to the correct specs. Hence the survey, Lot of $$ for 2 jugs and pistons plus the engine case itself. Do it once, do it right.

I heard bad things about every piston maker out there everyone has had an issue or two I went for price of the total kit. I have had massive bad luck with Wis in moto x bikes. I have done tons of millennium cylinders though and never had a problem I check tolerances very close as I was rebuilding race bikes. Never ever had an issue. As for MCB Not sure but I haven't had trouble yet I have about 150 miles on my sets with no problem.

I have had good luck with SPI pistons (have installed 9 sleds so far from 700-900 cats to 700-800 Doos ). I would not put in Wisco have not heard anything good about them. Will have to look up where I have had cyclinders replated.

I'm doing the top on my 2002 800 Summit sport, what pistons and plating company do you reccommend?

I have nothing but good luck with Wiseco in the 600/700/800 ski-doo motors.
not one has ever came back with a problem (and i am talking 100s).
The only 2 times i have used SPI they failed they are junk in my book.
The MCB is junk too don't last as long as stock and that is junk.
I send 30 to 50 cyls to US chrome never one out of speck.
had 3 go to millennium and one was out, I will stick to US Chrome.
I will not run any thing but Wiseco in a Ski-doo

Pistons/Cylinders

I just did SPI piston/ring set from Sled-Parts.com last season. From what I could tell, the MCB and SPI are almost identical. All was well until I had a circlip come undone and destroy a piston and cylinder at the end of last season. Couldn't really diagnose if it failed or if I did a poor job installing. All looked well when I put her back together. I went with US Chrome to get my cylinder replated and get the replacement SPI piston/ring set and gasket set. Cylinder came back looking really good. Did have one snafu though, busted a head bolt off due to crud in one of the holes. Guessing they gave it a good acid bath and something settled on the threads. Probably my own fault for not running a tap through the holes! Lesson learned for next time I guess. US Chrome's service and price was good. I will go to them again.

MCB and SPI pistons are cheap because they are junk. I have had t rebuild many motor that used this junk. As for the C clips they use it is a inferior metal compared to Wiseco clips. The SPI and MCB pistons are prone to the C clips coming out.
