That rapid is just below bliss in the slide area about 10 years ago the whole side of the canyon slid off completely blocking the river for about 20 min was a crazy thing to see half a mile of the hill side relocated its self down to the river. moved pretty slow you could hear the barb wire fences snapping

I would normally agree with you....but a surfer has to move his body in ways that a life jacket wouldn't allow and he is a professional surfer. I bet he could swim his way out of a hurricane.

agreed, most pro surfers are insane swimmers. I would think a lid would be better suited then a jacket.

yep a pro big wave surfer who was smart enough he didn't even know what an eddy line was. he also admitted he went on a wild quarter mile swim after wiping out. I do have lots of expierence surfing on rivers. he is stupid for not wearing a lifejacket while surfing on a river.

Great place to top after rafting the Payette.
