Hey guys, the following was posted on the UAC facebook page.

Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center
"We're getting nervous here. Donations this year are like the snowpack, thin, weak, & scary. We'll survive this season, but will need to make some cuts next year if contributions this season don't pick up(we mostly commit our budget over the summer). If you value what we do & haven't donated, please think of what the ...forecasts are worth to you. If you have donated, thank you and remind your friends to do the same."

If you haven't donated yet, please do. This is a great service for us and one we can't do without. I am going to donate $100 right now. I encourage everybody to donate what they can and show our support.

Thanks.

ttt. I have noticed that they have raised another $2K. Good Job peeps. Keep it up. Post it up if you have contributed this year. This includes the Level 1 class coming up that is a fundraiser. Let's show them that not just the leaf lickers can help out.

This is another great reason to take the level one class...all of the proceeds will go to the UAC to support snowmobile projects.

I would hate to see the UAC lose any funding, they already do an amazing amount of work on a small budget and I doubt there is any room to make cuts and continue to deliver the services that they provide.

Thanks for the support - things are indeed looking tight for next year and are likely to get a lot worse as the state budget is finalized. Your support is critical to our survival and helps us decide where to dedicate our resources. It is nice to know that surviving in avalanche terrain is a cause that both the folks on this forum and the leaf lickers can agree on.
For those of you who are facebook users, check us out at facebook.com/Utah.Avalanche.Center - we post a lot of non-forecast related information there and want to know how else we can help you.
