Members of Snowy Range Snowmobile Club will be collecting signatures on Saturday (13th) and Sunday (14th) at Green Rock in support of the forest services plan to study and build a parking lot near Green Rock.

Several weeks ago during the Murf the Surf’s Cross Country Ski Poker Run in Centennial, it was reported that 366+ signatures were gathered against the proposed parking lot. We need to show we have just as many or more supporters.

So please take a moment, stop and say hi, we need your support.
If you would like to help out or if you would like to help collect from your location PM Me!

Where will you be set up in lot or what should we look for. The will be eight of us and we will sure do it.

We will have several tables and a small Tent/Shelter. Plan is to setup on the highway near the lodge, but there will most likely be some walking the Parking Area as well.

Folks, tell your buddies, we need the snowmobile community to be heard to balance against the BCA and their tactics.

We need a way for those of us out of town to sign. If you have something let me know, I can do some leg work around sw iowa.

We looked into an online petition, but not really sure anyone would accept them.

We are also looking to setup a form you could download, print and mail back!

We will be there Sun thru Thurs but are going out of Ryan Park this year. Is there a way you could have other businesses help out (they get gas and food business by anyone that comes out). Wouldn't places like Rendevous, The Place and Albany help out? We could sign them there.

Could you please leave a sheet to sign at Maverick, I will not be riding this weekend but hope to be out the next weekend. All the Iowa and Nebraska riders need to be able to sign this petition this is a very important issue in the snowies.

We are working on getting them out to the dealers!

Currently we have the Petition at the following additional locations:
Frontier Cycles (Laramie)
Maverick Motor Sports (Laramie and Cheyenne)
Felker's (Loveland Co)

Were hoping to add some more locations, so check back.

HEADS UP!

The sled manufacturers expo will be at the Denver Merchandise Mart next Wednesday, March 17th, for one day only. Doo, Poo, Cat, & Yami will have their new sleds there.

Perhaps that would be a good place to gather some signatures!?!?:horn:

It's in West Yellowstone, MT today through Sunday, then next stop looks like Layton, UT followed by Jackson, WY...

A little off base here but allows for a good argument about snowmobiles driving out all of the animals. This is one of the defenses that environmentalists use and makes you think about it when you are riding at 11,000 feet in 20 feet of snow and see no Elk, Deer, Moose, and Giraffes.

Anyway read this in the San Francisco Cronicle about a single Wolverine found in California. Wolverines were thought to be exinct for 90 years in California according to the article.

The article also stated: "Some theorists suggest that Idaho wolverines might have migrated centuries ago and lived undetected in California until now. They are, after all, loners who stake out remote territory, avoid people and feast on insects, berries, small animals and carrion.

Which points out another wild departure from the norm for this wolverine, Shufelberger said.

"The area that he's at is a very high-snowmobile-usage area, one of the highest in the Tahoe National Forest," Shufelberger said. "It surprises me that he is hanging out there. There are snowmobile tracks everywhere."

Must be riding a DOO.

Kenny
