Supertips setup on n/a Apex

I just got a set of Supertips from Ulmer Racing. He send me the 60g base weights. I will mainly be running at sea level.
But, next week I'll be heading out west and riding at 8k-10k elevation. What should I start with? Just run the 60g weights?

Stock clutching
undertunnel exhaust
45lbs. of weight removed
Challenger Extreme 162" track
19-40 gearing

Why in gods name would Ulmer send me these weights then? I told them exactly what I had and that it would be ridden split between low elevation and 10k elevation.

I run the 60's at 8000 ft, just put them in bare,no added weight. They work great. My sled is minus 94 pounds with 18/43 gear and 174 camo ext. Change your primary spring to blue-silver-blue or blue-pink-blue, Even when I ran the 19/42 combo I could slam the rev limiter on hardpack, climbing in powder 10,200, 43 track speed I run shockwave helix at 48 deg.
I would strongly recomend a 42 bottom gear (70 link chain) the sled will love it, you can still run about 90 but it will really be a beast on the bottom.
You may have to go 1 or 2 steel washers in the tips, but no more will be needed.

I will agree however that for a normally asperated sled the 50 gram would be a better start as it would allow you the option of adding more weight if need be....IMHO

Thanks for the response. I guess I really have no other choice than to give it a try. Good to know it will probably work fairly decent though
I am going to get the lower gearing though. Long story short: I just picked this sled up 2 weeks ago and want to make 1 more trip with it. The guy I bought it from had highway gears in the thing 'cause he liked to trail ride. 22-38 gears I beleive. I have reverse. This wan't going to cut it for me. All I could find for gears on short notice yet this spring is 19-40 gears. Everyone was sold out for the season. Next fall once gears become available again I will be running a 18-42 combo.
