Superchips Flashpaq

I have an 04 gmc 1/2 ton with a 5.3 that I'm looking to maybe get a little more juice out of and maybe a little better fuel mileage. It does pretty good on fuel the way it is now averaging a consistent 17.7 but a little more wouldn't hurt. I've also heard they smooth out the shifting quite a bit too which would be nice in town. Does anyone have experience with superchips? Are they worth it?

I had a superchips on my 3rd gen dodge. Noticed a big difference on that vehicle and it was very easy to use. For the dodges the superchips was the best one for canned tunes. Not sure about chevys though.

I had an 04 Chevy 1/2 ton, and tried the Superchip flashpaq. Honestly, I didn't notice any difference in gas mileage, or power. I ended up selling it, and buying a Edge CTS chip. I didn't notice much difference in power, but the fuel mileage went up quite a bit. I had 35" on mine, and went from 12mpg, to about 15 mpg. That was always hand calculated.

You just don't notice the power out of the gassers like you do in the diesels.

Thanks for the replies! I'm not overly concerned with horsepower gains, more power is always nice but for me it's not that necessary. Fuel mileage would probably be the biggest gain I'm looking for, like I said it does good already but there's always room for improvement.

If your gettin 17.7 mpg be happy dude

I got a 2012 chevy crew cab with 5.3l and I'm only getting 14

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with it but I figured if I'm getting that good of fuel mileage with it being bone stock, maybe it could get better. I've always wondered why the newer 5.3's get worse fuel mileage than the older ones. They seemed to go a little backwards there :face-icon-small-dis Hopefully the new direct injected 5.3's are as good as they promise, I might be in the market in a few years :face-icon-small-hap there should be some used ones floating around by then.
