iam just wondering if any of you ppl hurd of this, i had a guy tell the me the other day that he paid $3200.00 canadian for a supercharger to go on his XP 800r, i think its bull**** for the price and how would you set a supercharger in there?? so help me out, cause i googled the **** outta this and got nothing, thanks mitch

Not sure why you would want to use a supercharger anyway.
A turbo uses exhaust gases to spin the turbo to pump air into the engine
With a supercharger you rely on the motor to spin the supercharger, therefore you are basically using HP to compress the air, plus it would be a bit of a bugger to drive.

Very, very few have ever got a supercharger to work on a 2-stoke. He may have bought one to put on it, but it will never run. He probably doesnt know the difference between a supercharger and a turbo. CPI has turbo kits for the XP for about that price.
isn't the supercharger used on the 4 stoker's?
There are SC kits for Yammys, 4 strokes.

HA! Now there's an Idea. That ***** would be spinning rediculous fast with that big gear. Did anyone ever find out if we can take that unit off yet without harming any "harmonics" in the musical crank?
problem has already been discused, what happens in the two stroke is without he backpressure that the turbo provides and then adding pressure you create a bad balance of pressure from exhaust side to the intake, resulting in thins running terribly, there was a thread about this a few weeks back, basic concensous was, if you could even get it to run, it would run like a turd, and be nowehere as affective as a turbo.

just adding my two cents here, i'm no expert but, if your slowing down exhaust gasses with a turbo your using horse power just as you would be using hp with a supercharger. I have heard of using the starter ring before to drive a supercharger. There are some people who have super charged motorcycles so why couldn't you a snowmobile?
