Summit x 154 or 146?

thats a broad question ! what kind of ridding do u do ? im sure they would be close im most conditions till it got deep then u will notce the difference ! seen the 154 agenst the 163 in the steep and deep and it was night and day diff !!!

I have a 154 xp, and i love it! My dad rode a 04 144 rev last year and in the trees and sidehilling he really liked it, I know the times i jumped on it, it was a fun sled to ride because it was so easy to throw around. He ended up snowchecking a 146 this year. Personally i think it will be great for him and his riding style, but I think i will stay with the 154.

That pretty much sums it up right there. If your into jumping it, and doing drops, then go with the 146". Otherwise the longer the better in the deep stuff.

Not to much into the steep, but like the backwoods boondocken probably in the deep, thinking the shorter the easier to manuver around?

I have both and have ridden all three sizes on the rev chassis. The 154 is better for tight trees and stuff because it is more forgiving. In other words you can screw up more without getting stuck. The 146 feels a bit shorter. A little less traction. A little more challenge sometimes (good thing). 154 is a good balance and that is why it is the most popular. On any given day the difference between riders is way way bigger than difference between 154 and 146.

154 all the way!

You want to see major boost's on a 154?!?!?!?!? Check out my profile picture!

Trail, trees, jumping, deep n steep, anything you want to do, 154 all the way!:beer;

I doubt you can hardly tell the diff. What is the difference in track contact?? 4"??? I would think skill would offset the difference.

I believe it was in Snowest magazine last spring, but anyways there was a head to head test of the two along with the other manufacturer's mountain sleds. The conclusion at the end was that the 146 outperformed the 154 in every category. The writer of the article couldn't find the reason why the 146 did better when you would think the long track would. This included a flat out drag race in the deep powder where the 146won race after race. Not to mention the 146 was the overall winner. I will have to look up that article, but most of you should remember it as well.

I've also riden both the 146 and 154 XP.
If you do any trail riding when not in the mountains, then go for the 146. And it will also do you very well in the steep and deep.
But if it's mainly a mountain sled, no question , go 154!

You guys still say this even after Speedracer pointed out that artical that ran in SnoWest last year?? I remember it. Must be a teste thing????:D
i`ve got a 154 .works great in the trees. was really surprised how nimble it is. then climbs like a mountain goat. go 154

go with the 154

It was in March 2008 Snowest issue. The article was called burying the competition and was 2008's deep powder challenge. Hope you can dig that up, great article about 146 vs 154

beer

I ride an 06 151. but i rode both the sleds in question last year. seemed to me that the 146 did not climb as well as the 154. I would say that if you are an expierienced rider, your 154 will be a more universal sled.

Depends what you call universal. I live in Saskatchewan. 146 is as universal as it gets for me. I can still bang the hell out of it in the flats. and then go west and get around pretty good. I seen the light when I seen a bone stock 144 adrenaline summit set up properly hi-mark a M-8 162 in some deep stuff out west. It was unreal. No-one could believe it. Rider weight differed by about 30 lbs but that 144 went everywhere I needed to go. The M-8 must of been set up pretty ****ty but it was still cool to see. Hi-markings not my thing anyway I like huge jumps and drops but...you get the point.

I watched a girl that rides in the Elevation films hi mark us and she was on a 660 RR. All I can say is setup makes one he11 of a difference on the hill. My buddy Eric has a 146 and he can hi mark me on my 154 all day so I would say a 146 for a small person and a 154 for a bigger person.
