summit 800 oil

I just bought a 2004 summit 800 and the previous owner was running Blue Marble oil. The skidoo dealer told me that I should run the skidoo synthetic oil instead and I will regret running blue marble. He was pretty adament about it.

Does the blue marble oil work good for this engine? It has engine mods (head, pistons, etc) but nothing too extreme. Why would he say this other than it being a sales pitch? Thanks for the help, I have just bought 2 gallons of blue marble and don't want to buy more oil.

Salesmen always say to run their own brand of oil but I think it is a load of bull. There are allot better oils out there. I dont know about Blue Marble but I use Opti 2.

Basically, 2 stroke oil is what it is, 2 stroke oil. If it meets tcw-3, and they all do. Run it. I wouldn't even give it a second thought. Run what you got in the jug.
