Summit 151 to 159 extension

I did that last year on my 05 151 and it worked very well. I just moved the whole skid frame back one inch or so. You will see on the inside of your tunnel where your forward mount for your suspension is there is a second washer - like a figure 8 - to the rear of the forward washer. You have to drill out the rear hole and move the suspension back. On the rear mount of the skid you will see three holes on the stock bracket on the tunnel. The middle one is where your skid will presently be mounted. You will have to drill out the back one and move the skid back there as well. I used a 9" wheel kit to take up the extra slack but an 8" might work as I had a fair bit of adjustment left with the 9"ers. Some say you will have to extend the tunnel but mine worked 100% where it was and it didn't even rub or catch on the snow flap.
I tried a polaris series 4 track - it sucked bag. Hard on sliders and very unpredicable with different snow conditions. I'm going to the powdermax 151 this year (from an 06 - got a great deal). I just need to install 9 tooth drivers for the 2.250 track.

A lot of work

Jeez, sounds like a lot of work. Is there a chance I could see some pictures. So you went from a 151 to a 159, or you went to a 151 from a shorter length? Do you think that 8 inch wheels will work.

I went from 151 to 159. The 8" would probably work but I'm not going to say for sure as I have never done it. As mentioned before I used 9" wheels. Really not too big of a job moving the skid - probably easier than changing the track. I will try and get some pics tomorrow night. I have since put on some rear drop brackets but you will still get the general idea.

Sorry I'm in a rush so I just attached pics.
First is of the second hole back - inside tunnel view - can't see much but might get idea of how it looks.
Second is the holes from the outside. Stock position right now with the one straight back that needs to be drilled. The one below is a long story - I know it looks like hell but it seemed like a good idea at the time!
Third is the rear drop bracket. Note the three bolts on top, the middle is stock hole and the back one would be the one needed to be drilled out. You can see where I had the skid just back of the one it is right now, on the drop bracket, by the wear marks.

Is there a chance you could measure the distance from the front back to each bolt hole, or where the suspension bolts up. Maybe take a picture of a tape measure beside the rail so I could do some comparisons to my rails. I know I might be asking for a lot but if it works for me I would be willing to trade
