Summit 1000?

Never owned a Skidoo. Found an 05 Summit 1000 162 with 1800 miles. Is this a decent sled worth looking at? Good points / bad points? Any info would be really appreciated.

Stay away. Had 2005 and 2006 . There is a reason Doo quite building them.

I haven't personally owned one, but I have a buddy who rode one for a couple of years. I do know that he always complained that it was HEAVY!!!

this. M1000 has its own little issues (pto rod bearings for some reason are what I've seen around here too many times) but it's much more reliable than the doo 1000.

I wasn't really looking for a 1000, just found what I thought was a good deal (not knowing anything about the Doo). The owner of this particular sled has done some mods to the cooling system and fuel pump that he says has helped with the main issues of the 1000. I just don't know what the issues were and why the 1000's were not produced anymore.

I've have one. This will be my third season on her. Would I recommend it.. NO. It's a high maintenance bitch, but if, and when you get it dialed in it will give you the white knuckle ride of your life...
