Summit 1000 coolint leak

Mine was leaking from front cooler as were many others. I took mine out a major PITA and got it welded by a good aluminum welder, then made sure he pressure tested it. I read on here a lot of guys were bypassing front cooler sled still has plenty o cooling esprcially if you still have rear cooler.

You can bypass the front cooler if you still have the rear cooler.

Otherwise you will have to pull the front cooler--lots of work--and have it welded. Mine started leaking in the first couple months--so Doo paid to have it done on warrenty.

Pretty much no pulling the cooler out. It is part of the chassis. When Doo fixed mine I got a whole new chassis. You may be able to have it welded as stated above. Probably leaking near right side behind motor. Good luck.

I 2nd that.
As this is where mine was leaking from.

You can pull the cooler out , I did it it is rivited to the frame it is a major PITA it was a 10 hr job an all nighter so I could ride next day. It is in there real tight but it is removable. Remove skid frame, take apart chain case take out drivers and track. Drill out all rivets holding cooler in place pry it out it is real tight. Get welded by a good welder and pressure tested. Put back together. Make sure it is where it is leaking from before going down this road. You may be able to add coolant every ride if it is not that bad. That is what I was doing but eventually it was leaking to fast and had to fix.

Good Luck, JB

Bad news--Mine has started leaking agian--looks like I will be looking for another option. Have put some ground pepper in to see if it will work--it works in other vehicles--thought I would try it in the sled to delay the inevitable.

And yes--I have seen the cooler pulled out--so it does come out with alot of work.

I've never tried it, but isn't there a product called..."Stop Leak" or something like that. If I remember correctly it was kind of a copper powder that you pour in. Would it be too heavy to circulate?
