Summer Vacation plans

Hey guys,

I am plannng a summer vacation to Edmonton mall this summer. What other things are on the way or close to that area that are good places to check out. I have 8 year old kids. I will be coming from Montana up thru Calgary

take the long way from calgary west through Banff to lake louise then up to jasper and back over to edmonton plenty to do along the way in the summer big mountains nice scenery go rafting, stop and fish somewhere whatever you want.

Hit the race track on the weekend.Some of the best short track sprint car racing around and sometimes drag racing on the 1/4 mile on the same weekend.

Take a left hand turn in Calgary go to Banff, see Lake louise, take your time see the Ice fields, take your time some more till you get to Jasper , by then you and your wife will be thirsty, go to Jasper Brewing House. Then take a right, go to Edmonton and have fun at the mall. This will not put you to far out of the way, but it would be the highlight of your trip rather than HWY from Calgary to Edmonton, unless you all fit in a Corvette.

After leaving Banff go through Kaninaskis country it is very beautiful you will come out at longview stop for some jerky then head up to Calgary, you should see lots of wildlife and it will probably be one of the highlights of your trip.

Summer does suck, Thanks to everyone for the ideas. I am looking forward to seeing you nice country. The way things are going here with our idiot government these days we may need to move there someday.

Stop at the Calgary Zoo it is a must the kids will love it and everytime i go i still love it.

No point in being so close to BC and not popping in for a visit, come white water rafting in Golden and go for a scenic gondola ride up at Kicking Horse. Tonnes of hiking around here, horse back rides, atv tours, tandem paragliding.....lots to do here.
