In about a week I am getting my 2009 600rmk :D, and I am starting to look for stuff to do for it. I got a pretty low budget ($500) and im not really looking to do much for performance parts.

This thing is gonna have to do some trail riding so i am looking for stuff to preserve the track and hifax and such on hardpack, any advice would be great thanks!

Things i got lined up:
polishing tunnel and pipe-still need advice on this, n i heard some people wax it too?

2 inch riser I am 5'10 and i prefer to stand up, do yall think its necessary?

Ice scratchers

decal kit

riser is definately necessary, im only 5'11'' and i have 8" riser on mine. i'd recomend a set of coated black better boards too, probably one of the best chassis mods you can do to a sled. also they lack storage in a big way and the sled solutions handle bar bag is top notch. i've never heard of waxing the pipe and tunnel but intimadator and mothers aluminum polish work great

yeah, i was kinda confused on the whole idea of waxing something you just polished...

but the bag thing looks like a good idea, and the boards too

You need hyperfax's, avid drivers, and fully clip you track. That combo will make that 600 run pretty good, you will have the best track speed possible. I did it on my dragon and it helped out alot. Get a can also. And some vents

can i get a link to the hyperfax's? i have read about those, and they sound like what i need. And how would i go about clipping the track? and how will it help?(yeah, im rather new at the modding thing)

in order to run hyperfaxes you have to have a fully clipped track, wps sells the clips and the clip instalation tool. imo its not worth it to run hifaxes because your adding a few pounds to your sled, their a b*tch to install the clips, and its not that hard to replace $40 dollars worth of hifax's once a year. the avid drivers are a good idea but they will run you $500 by themselves, and on a 600 i dont really see them necessary. i ran my track on the looser side all year with stock drivers and never had a problem at all.

It's not about the the hyfax's lasting it's about roll resistance. Metal clips slid way better on hyperfaxs then rubber does. The drives are spendy but I can't stand the bs drives they come with.

If you are riding trails I would get a set of bogey wheels and maybe some scratchers.

Definetly go with some black better boards, and a riser and handgaurds if you like. I am 6'2" and have a 7" fly riser on it. Put it on after the last trip for the year and just from standing on it I wish I had it for the whole season. I added the under the seat bag from polaris for $40 and it had the tank/map bag allready on it for storage.

The Skinz bumper and float plate are a nice combo if you decide to head off trails. I also added some footwell vents.

I have a SLP can for the 08 600 which should work if you are interested in it.

I polished my tunnel with Busch Aluminum super shine polish and followed up with busch aluminum wax and sealant. Heres a couple of pics how it turned out.

I'm not one to judge, but dam why don't ya just weld some razor blades to the edge of your boards ?

That looks nice, I like the polished look but missing the board on a side hill and cutting your leg off just aint for me ! Maybe it looks worse then it really is ?

I've got 2 sleds similar to yours....
My thought's for around $500.
Black Better Boards
Carl's Cycle Knee Vents and Shock vents
Slidekick Ice Scratchers(look up Whitefish in swapmeet he has them off season for $75.shipped with both regular and Carbide tips included)
Vortech Trunk Rack

If you have a little extra coin gear it down 1 tooth to a 42 tooth bottom, what you lose in top end you'll make up in acceleration.
Good luck and think SNOW:)

as far as the outside of the boards thats factory polaris, and in my opinion its one of the best things an oem manufacturer has ever done, always good traction. i did rip a pair of klim pants this year but even so they are still way worth it!

How many bogey wheels do you think would be useful? Its already got 3 pairs.

and what are you looking for out of the SLP can? I think I would like a different can.

also, i like the shine on your tunnel, Would i have to wax it necessarily?

Now that you say that and I looked at mine and yes the 600 have 3 sets of wheels. It was the 09 800 that many came without the bogey wheels to shed a pound or two of weight. You should be fine with those three.

$100 plus shipping. If you want a different brand thats fine. Thats why I took it off anyway cause I wanted the MBRP can.

No, the wax and sealant came in the kit I bought when I got the polish. All it does is help seal it to make it last a little longer. But I polish mine every summer anyways and then possibly again in the middle of winter.. Depends on how much riding there is back in Iowa and how much time I have in between trips out west.
