Summer hiking trip

Hi all..

Yes, I know we are just getting into the heart of winter, but maybe while we all wait for more snow, you could give me some pointers! :)

My wife and I live in Minnesota, and we want to plan a road trip (also with our two dogs) to Colorado over the 4th of July this summer. We want to find a small cabin to rent for a few nights in the Aspen/Breckenridge area, that is pet friendly obviously, and that is also close to some hiking trails.

Would any of you have any places (or other areas) you would recommend that you've heard of or had past experiences with?

Thank you in advance!!

Dan

Push on a little farther, about 2 hours west of Aspen and I have just what you want. Very pet friendly, hundreds of miles of hiking, 300 lakes withn 20 miles if you fish. Absolutely gorgeous country. See our website at Thundermountainlodge.net. Thanks, Mark

Believe it or not, but go onto Expedia and search for hotels in Ouray. There are more listing for renting cabins than hotels. Great town, tons of high country and in the heart amongst many mountain passes

Aspen will cost you a fortune. I think you will like Ouray or the Mesa. Anywhere further North in Colorado is going to be under extreme logging or closures due to the massive beetle kill and the dangers of falling snag.
