Summer Fuel? Drain or Run it?

Hey guys, i put fuel stablizer in 91octane gas and toped off my sled.. I had it sitting in my garage since May without starting. its a 08 xp. what are you guys doing? draining the gas? or am i good to go with using it? thanks.

I use Seafoam stabilizer in everything at the end of the season. I have never had a problem. My boat sat for two years once without starting and it started and ran perfect. Give it a try over stabil. You won't be dissapointed. IMHO

I store my sleds in my shop for the summer and never use any kind of fuel stabilizer, and never drain the fuel. My sleds always run the same as they did when I parked them last spring.

Again, heres another reason to search for non ethanol fuel . . . Ethanol shortens the "shelf life" of gasoline.

Run it. I always run 92 Octane and use a bottle of the red Heat to absorb any moisture that may have collected.

Same.

I use stabilizer and never had a problem. Just top 'er off with the best stuff you can get. 94 at chevron in the Gar is what we use.

Why would you top er off for summer storage? I run the tank as low as possible, run some stabilizer through and start with fresh for the new season. The only reason to top er off is to prevent rust which of course is not an issue with a plastic fuel tank JMO.

The guy's at my sled service dept say the same thing as my boat service dept. With the crappy fuel that is going around these days, it's best to run the tank low, then stabilize.

X 2 on the Sea Foam. Have a mower that flat would not run. Drained the fuel and Sea Foam--after 2-3 mins it ran like a champ.

I drain as much out of the tank then put 2 gallons with SF in at season's end then first ride drain the carbs to look for green stuff, fill with gas and pull the cord and ride about 40 miles of easy stuff to test the sled.

If your not going to use it then why stabilize it? I have used Stabil for years. Top it off and let-er-rip.

There are people that say to fill the tank before storage to minimize condensation. I have always ran it down a ways so I can top off with fresh fuel for the first ride. To each their own.

Same here, run fuel low, store in garage over summer, then fill with fresh before first ride.

May not be the "by the book" way to store, but haven't had any problems so far and have been doing it for years.
