Ok, I know the 2005 RT 1000 had some bugs. Here is what I have done or am in the process of doing please let me know if I missed anything.

2007 ECM from Highmark X for new curve.
Air box delete and UNI pods put on
Hood vent kit
ACDelco low pressure fuel pump
Thermostat install
Water Temp Guage installed

Questions,

Is the rear heat exchanger delete needed at our altitude if thermostat is installed?
Amzoil oil good for these?
Has sidehiller skiis almost 7 inches wide, is this enough for this sled as its a bit heavy? (162 track)

Appreciate any info. Thanks!

I would contact Felker Motorsports in Loveland. Your absolute best bet on tuning advice.

I would figure with the massive amount of information here from people that owned one of these beasts that somebody will answer.

The rear cooler is not needed and is a weight saver...easy DIY bypass

Legend Oil...of course ;)

Thanks tudizzle. I had heard it wasn't needed but wanted to hear from somebody that had some experience with these at 10 to 12k altitutde, and it sounds like you have. Any idea what temp range this should run? Like 130 to 180?

no idea....there was a list of things that can be done for cheap to lighten them up. I'll try a quick search

check over on doo talk lots of good info

ditch stock can
remove tail light/luggage rack
dif skis
different pipe
clutch kit
dif shocks
dif riser/bars
foam /plastic move
seat cut downs

seems like some guys like to shorten them up to 146 or shorter and they really rip (well for what it is)

Seems like alot to throw at the sled to make it fun. I would do whatever you could for free..ie unbolt and trim weight....can for sure.....

then depending on what you want to spend
clutch kit
susupension

plus of course the other basics you listed thermostat..pump...venting...etc

or the best advice i could give....sell it and rrrruuuuuun

Thanks for the info. Kind of what I had already saw but having not had one of these I wanted to balance what was worth doing against what is not. I have alot of the mods you mentioned so I guess its ride it now. :)

Dizz, is that the sled you had before? I have seen you post advice about them before.

And I SECOND the Felker tip. I know several of his group that rode those things a while back and they were runners.
