So I'll be relocating to the Idaho Falls area. Looking for suggestions on good schools, and where might be a good location to look for a home. I would like some acreage if possible so I can keep my horses with me. 10 acres or less is what I'm thinking. My main concern is getting my kids in to a decent school. Oldest is 12. I'm Looking anywhere from sugar city area to Idaho Falls area. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Convenience to good riding areas is a bonus as well :face-icon-small-hap

Sugar City schools are supposed to be great I hear. It's also closest to better riding. You may be bored coming from a larger more populated area, Depending on what you like for fun.

Thanks. Small town / rural lifestyle suits us just fine. Recreation is what my little family enjoys. I'll look into sugar city a little more.

You would probably enjoy Sugar, Rexburg, Rigby area then. All have tons of outdoor recreation close by. Lots of little rural areas just outside of each town also. Country living minutes from town.

shelley firth area has good schools and can still find some good prices on land. 15 minute dr to idaho falls. 110 miles to the kegg springs parking lot in island park. 130 kids in my daughters 7th grade class like 140 in 8th.

Working from home or planning on making a daily commute?
If commuting, where to?

Better look at private schools too. Idaho has some of the worst schools in the country, they currently rank 42 out of 51. Eric

Thanks for the responses. I'll be working from home some and spending a little time in Rexburg. Sugar city is on my radar.

I live in Rigby, have two kids in school and one getting ready to start. We really like the school so far and think they're getting a great education. Awesome riding within an hour, better real estate prices than surrounding towns.
