Suggestion/Changes for the 900 Section... Input please!

I thought I would take a minute and let everyone know that I am the new moderator that has been assigned for the 900 Forum.

If anyone has any suggestions for things they would like to see changed in the 900 section specifically, please feel free to let me know at any time. I know there have been lots of changes going on on the forums in the last few weeks, including the birth of this new 900 section

I'd really like to see as much activity as possible in here, so if you have any suggestions for good ideas that you would like to see stickied to the top of the page, let me know as it can be very easily done.

If for some reason you may find your post has been moved in here or a new thread has been started, there is probably a very good chance that I have been the one to do it for one reason or another. I hope you will all bear with me through the coming days as I give my effort to try and make this section as information and user friendly as I can.

With all that being said, once again please feel free to offer up any suggestions, concerns, or new ideas you may have for our little corner of the forums, I will do my best to make this section as good as it can be with your help and guidance.

Not sure on what else we can really do to make the 900 thread better. I don't know if you really want to start making sub forums but maybe just a few for major things like pictures, Parts for sale, and then just general info, and a chat for talking about the 900. Break it up a little just so it's eisier to find info on it. We need to find a way to keep all the threads to the top so they don't float away.

2. That's been happening a lot lately down in the FP sections... and its kinda hard to keep those kinda threads 'family friendly' Now if you would like to post pics of some ladies in every day clothing on some 900 sleds, I think I could let that fly...

2. I can understand where your coming from, but unless you are a supporting vendor of the site, the parts for sale need to be listed in the Swapmeet section to help keep the 'clutter' down

3. I'm not sure on the general 900 chat, I will have to send that one up the ranks and get back to you guys on it.

4. Like I said, if you think a specific thread is worthy of being a sticky, let me know and it can be very easily done.

Any more suggestions, please keep them coming...

Maybe like a how to section or subforum for the 900's....there are so many updates, recalls, upgrades, etc. that maybe if people start documenting there work in there shops we can have a subforum. It can be like how to pull 900 engine, pull ecu, motor mounts, radiatior deletes, better boards, etc....just a suggestion...

Also a 900 only live chat....or maybe polaris only

Seth, something that needs to be fixed is the search function back to the way it used to be on the old forum. This search function doesn't work very good and it takes forever to find anything.

Cool your our 900 Mod though.

I will try and work on some stuff next month, never done a step-by-step thing before..but will see if i can dummy down some stuff, cause i am VERY technical and extremely ADVANCED!! OR NOT!!!

Seth, something that needs to be fixed is the search function back to the way it used to be on the old forum. This search function doesn't work very good and it takes forever to find anything.

Maybe a silly question, but have you tried using the Advanced search option...? It works MUCH better than just the little simple search...

I think this is an awesome idea. I can't create an entire new subforum myself, but I have already sent the idea up the ranks to see if we can get it done. From there we can create threads and stickies if necessary for more specific topics.

Ok guys, it is possible to create ourselves our own subforum if we want it.

So give me your opinions on the matter... do you REALLY want a "How To work on your 900" subforum?

Lemme know and if you want it it will be created.

That's another option.

I can pick through Mountainhorse's "Usefull Links" thread as well as going through the 900 section and the Polaris section and find all the useful "How To' threads that are pertinent and have a sticky specifically for "How To". I am thinking about doing this anyway whether or not we wind up asking for a full on sub forum or not as it seems like there is a desire to more easily explain how to do things on our sleds, from mild to wild.

Totally up to you guys... do you want just another simple sticky thread geared at How To and add to it as necessary as Mule has suggested, or a full on sub forum with a link back thread stuck at the top to get things started?

A whole bunch of sticky's are irritating, you almost have to scroll to see the first posts. At least with a sub-forum you only have to see all the threads in it if you open it.

Also locking the threads seem to be a headache to edit later on on other forums.
