So this weekend I am going to check out an 06 3/4 ton Sub (8.1L). The previous owner has swapped the stock wheels with 20". I have never been a fan of the low profile look on trucks/SUV's. I much prefer the look of the currant Ford Raptor's offerings. 315/70R17. Huge chunk of rubber. I am guessing that without major suspension mods, this tire will not fit. However, what WILL fit yet offer a "meaty" look versus the Corvette.

I believe a 285/75-16 is the largest tire that will fit on the classic 2500hd pickups and I believe the suburban might be the same.

Google tire size calculator and you can compare tire sizes to find an equiv in 20” size.

Cant clear 16s, will rub on brakes. I would say a 285 70 17 with keys turn up to make it level. Also depends on offset of the wheel. +0mm will be the best all around fit. Negative offset means more likely to run on the outside of wheel well. To much positive off will run the risk of rubber in the inside.
Positive= more inboard wheel
Negative= more outboard wheel

285/75 16 Ds were the largest I could run on my 01 on stock wheels with very minor rub on full lock. Revos (original and 2s). Stock front. Never rubbed them offroad on bumps, but didn't run hard there, either. Stock were 245/75 16 Es. FWIW.

I have five 2006 gm vehicles running 16” rims. Depends on backspacing. Tire size mentioned above works great.

Here you go if you still need it. 285/55-20 is about .5" shorter than 285/75-16. 285/60-20 is .7" taller. 275/60-20 is .2" taller and since it it a tad narrower than the 285 you may be ok as far as the tire rubbing anything while turning, assuming same backspacing as oem wheels.
