Stupid Ski bumpers

So last year I was having the ski issue when I'd sidehill. Mostly in heavier snow, my ski would go vertical and almost send me over the bars. I talked with a buddy who said he replaced his bumpers twice in a season because of this. Is there a better bumper to purchase for these Polaris Pros that will eliminate this issue.

Thanks!

Never personally had that experience with the stock bumper, but the skidoo bumpers definitely help with this.

I have a bunch of the C&A bumpers that I've cut in half and fit to the gripper pocket for my builds. I still shim them up a bit and front to back for a tight fit.

FWIW

That's not a fix Mike. The same thing will happen with the C&A rubber also.

I ran the Summit Rev rubber the entire season last year (1100 miles) and they worked great. I had them off this summer to make sure they were still intact and all was well.

I did not need any thing extreme to install them just a bit of extra pressure to compress the rubber to get the bolt through.

Hey Mike

Mike - not sure you remember me but met you a few times here in GJ at The Ranch riding bikes. I used to work for MRP and ran their sponsorship program. ANYWAY, get some C&A bumpers, cut out the ridges in your gripper skis so they fit, and re-install your skis on your sled. Problem solved. I went through like 6 pairs and countless over the bars when a ski would stick straight up 2 winters ago, and after switching to the C&A, never had the problem again.

Whoa, what are the odds of running into a GJ buddy! Small world, man I bet you guys have some amazing snowmobiling over there! Thanks for the tip, Ill be calling C&A soon to get this issue resolved! If you're ever in the NorthWest and wanna bike or sled hit me up!

Trying something new this year after two sets of doo rubbers last year.

Was talking to a local guy and he gave me a blinding flash of the obvious.

Putting silicone grease on the top of the rubber to keep the spindle from tearing it.

As soon as i heard it everything makes sense, the rubber will squish out of the way and then return to its original shape.

I'll see how it works.

Cant see how it could make anything worse.

Good.
I guess I posted on some other threads results and additional angle pieces i added to keep the doo rubber from spitting out.

1/2"x1" angle 4" long .063 aluminum.
One in front and one behind the spindle.

No cutting on the doo rubber or ski or spindle just force it into place with a dot of grease on the top of the rubber.

Still going strong.
I sold the tube chassis sled to a buddy so i'll see how they hold up for the second year.
