Stress on stearing post with riser

I know there are lots of posts about risers, but my concern is stress on the post being they are some what high stock. Do you feel that adding 2 inches of riser is going to be hard on the post?

The bars are just a little short for me now and with not having to extend the cables with a 2 inch riser I am thinking that is the way to go as long as it don't mes with the post.

Thanks for the input!

Have 2 inch risers on my Wife's 11 Pro, no issues all last year.
Stock bars on mine, broke a plastic bushing . . . sigh.

I'd say raise 'em. I find I'm not reefing on the bars on this sled like I have had to on other sleds in the past, so that's a plus for raising them up.

Just called the local dealer........ they don't have anything over 1 inch. Asked if they could order something after market..... couldn't find anything.

Guess I will go and search for something on my own.

What is the best riser and what are most people running on the PRO RMK. Im new to polaris so wondering what is the best set up for a 6 foot rider.

Six foot rider?.... Stock.

Im 6' and rode stock all last year 2500 miles. Leaving my 12 stock height as well. Felt a little low at first when standing going down the trail, quickly got used to it and now it's great. Lot of difference in the feeling depending on if the bars are pushed forward or pulled back in the clamps.

There is a dark center line that was lined with the gap between the two halves of the clamps. I have mine set up where that dark line is lined up with the top of the bottom half-- slightly pulled back and down from stock position.

It doesn't matter how tall you are...it depends how long/short your arms are:face-icon-small-hap LOL I'm 5'11" and just dropped mine 2" and it feels great to me...I must have longer arms:face-icon-small-win

Iso-Vibe

i have run iso-vibes on my last 3 sleds. helps isolate the bars from the pounding from whoops etc. there are bushings inside the riser that allow a bit of flex front/rear and side/side. it is adjustable. i have had both shoulders rebuilt and it helps a lot. also think it may have saved a broken femur when i clipped a stump in the snow and supermanned over the bars, catching the bar on my right quad, tearing the muscle pretty badly. had enough give to save from breaking. pic and link below. about a 2 inch rise.

THIS!

I love my Isovibes (have on ALL of my sleds).
Eric, good seeing you over here! Call Tim and tell him I sent ya. He didn't have many left that will fit a Pro; I thought I was the only one with an Isovibe on a Pro! They're made to be adjustable depending on the mounting direction of the lower cup but they won't fit in the "lowered" position because the cup won't fit over the mount plate so you have to go with the upper position (unless Tim has updated them?) mounting it upside down flat against flat. The upper position is right about at a 2" rise so you're good2go! I'll probably get the lower RSI bars for mine as I prefer my bars lower on the Pro for better sidehilling control.

Have FUN!

I have the SPI 2" riser to install. This riser comes with regular bolts that WON'T work with the Pro. I had to stop by Tacoma screw and get some allen bolts so a bit of a hassle to make it work but it will do the job. Like the idea of the ISO vibe, had a similar accident to above poster, that throttle block is hell on quad muscles. Just ended up with a really deep bruise, no tear though. Thought my season was over on the first ride it hurt so bad.

Me and die hard poo have both bent steering posts with stock height bars. Food for thought.

slightly pulled back and down from stock position.

Exactly Murph. My Wife is 5'11" long legs and arms, she is much more comfortable with the 2" riser. (RSI great product)
I am 5'7" and have no legs, I have played with the bars and ended up with them just slightly back/down more than yours. I like both the handling characteristics of the sled, and I like the way this puts me over (straight above) the steering post when on edge. (or stuck in a tree bowl :face-icon-small-dis)

Certainly a personal choice thing.

the added bonus to the iso vibe setup is VERY unlikely to bend your steer post.....

After reading all of this I may have to ride this thing once before I put a riser on it now.

Thanks for all the input.

GMan- you on a Poo now?? :)

Believe it or not, yes. I never did like the XP Summits; the Pro is like a gen II Rev Summit - exactly what I was looking for. You will love it tho it still isn't perfect. I find myself cursing the weaksauce shocks, bumpers and running boards. After another 2 grand it will be my dream sled!

Have FUN!
